I understand what you're getting at here, but a lot of your points boil down to time. It takes you longer to achieve the same results than it would for a carrier owner. Which is pretty obvious really.
In most cases a carrier owner has spent hundreds of hours of game time before being able to purchase the carrier in the first place. One of the rewards for that effort is being able to optimise participation in transport CGs, although this isn't one that's horribly skewed towards carrier owners.
Generally speaking I think there's a decent balance in the CGs, and some are obviously easier for newer players to get involved in than others. You will never get a level playing field though, as there are so many variations than can be achieved from having a game as old as this with players who have sunk thousands of hours.
Hopefully you stick around long enough to enjoy what Elite has to offer and get your own carrier one day, so you can shave an hour off here or there too.
