And the waters closed over hi and he was never heard from againNo problemo, gimme 5 minutes.
No wonder it's so elusive...
It moves every time it's found!
The Legend dates back 1000 years. So how would those people found USS at a random location in space, with that tech, and how would they addapt to use it? If it was some sort of anomally in space, it could have also dispersed over time.Since Raxxla was meant to be in game from before Horizons, the chance of it being some sort of POI on a planet is probably slim.
Its more likely either to be an object in space or a planet/moon.
I'm going to go with some sort of USS you find in space if you fly far enough out in the right system.
Your Graffiti is everywhere. Didn't miss a thing.

I went and had a look at Kwatis and that had me thinking something similar.
I noticed that, in Kwatis, you keep seeing TL2 "Distress Call" USSs which always turn out to be something like a Wanted FDS and a wing of Eagles - and, incidentally, no apparent target for them.
No biggie.
That got me thinking, though.
We're told that you have to beElite"The best of the best" to gain access to Raxxla and, IIRC, there's also some waffle about there being a test of courage before you're granted access to Raxxla.
All it'd take to successfully obfuscate any discovery of Raxxla would be to put it behind 2 or 3 "validation gates" and you'd massively reduce the likelihood of somebody just stumbling across it.
If a player has to be Elite and then has to become allied with some faction and then has to complete some action (possibly a trivial one, easily ignored) before, perhaps, a ship jumps in and sends you a message, inviting you to the Raxxla cabal, then it's hugely unlikely anybody's going to comply with ALL the required steps.
We end up with a situation where all the Elites in the game spend all their time doing random stuff just in case that's what triggers access to Raxxla.
Also, while I'm at it, what if FDev have programmed something into the game where everybody starts off with the chance of finding Raxxla but then, if you do anything dodgy, your access is permanently revoked?![]()
I'm thinking simpler though. If it was in at 1.0, it was probably not something particularly complicated.
…
Were there, for example, assassination missions where a "contact" showed-up to redirect you to al alternate target location?
Were there USSs prior to Engineers?
…
Heh, that's one hell of a theory.

Yes, USSs have been part of the game since 1.0.
Mission "wrinkles" have been introduced to the game after 1.0.
The system in which Raxxla is is quite obviously in the game since 1.0. Therefore Raxxla is in the game since 1.0 - the real question is how obvious is it/was it to find it.
Example: random system XYZ is Raxxla - without anything in that system to identify it as Raxxla players have no way to really find it, but it is in the game
(Raxxla is the journey, not the destination {the biggest myth in ED should never be found})
P.S.: "Raxxla is in the game" doesn't have to mean that there is a location named Raxxla in the game, the lore, the mythos Raxxla is in the game![]()
