Raxxla: The New Evidence (Major Spoilers)

Commander PublicStaticVoid's independent investigation into the mystery of Raxxla

Preface:
To the commanders who have been to Raxxla already, what you seek to keep secret I seek to unearth... To all the explorers out there searching, we aren't done yet... Why is my report incomplete?
Before I wrapped myself up into a binding blood contract that could cost me everything, I have stopped short of my initiation to write this report in hopes my safety will not be in danger. In the hopes that whomever/whatever spooked other commanders who have been to Raxxla will not come after me. I am not technically initiated yet, no oath has been taken. To those who continue reading this, there may or may not be risks associated with this quest, if you are uncomfortable with possibly being completely destroyed turn back now... If science is your life, lets drive this mystery home...

What you will need to begin the initiation and gain the whereabouts of Raxxla:
A firm understanding of the story of Persephone and Demeter's as well as Persephone's abduction, a wake scanner, and 4 slots of cargo space. Outside research materials are provided below:

http://thingsinthree.blogspot.com/p/homer.html

Circumstances that may or may not make a difference
I am Elite in Exploration, have traveled across the galaxy and Sag A*, I have only a couple of system permits, nothing relevant. I am flying an 'A' grade sidewinder with a Wake Scanner and full suite of exploration tools. I research only in Solo mode and the events detailed below have occur in solo.

Persephone's Backstory for the reenactment:
Persephone was stolen from her mother Demeter while out playing far away from home in the "plains of Nysa" at the behest of her father Zeus. <Where our journey begins, and yes 'Nysa' is in the Galaxy Map>.

Notable points about Nsya

  • Where the story begins in the Greek myth
  • https://www.edsm.net/en/system/bodies/id/18452/name/Nysa
  • Nysa is in the bubble, not far from Sol and right under our noses.
  • Nysa cannot be searched for in the Galaxy map unless it is by the full name.
  • Nysa is a trinary system with stations being well over 550k out from the mains star forcing you to cover vast distances. It takes dedication to research.

Zeus knew Demeter would not willingly give up her daughter so he had Hades steal her, ripping her from her mother while she was being watched by a siren. Ultimately she became the queen of the underworld. She is worshiped by many cults throughout history who swear a vow of secrecy as they are initiated, the punishment being death.

Eleusinian Mysteries

Outside Research Materials:

There is a shadow cult that resides in Nysa... And they hold initiations in that system based on the Eleusinian Mysteries. The 3 steps to the initiation can be found at the link above and are as follows:
1. dromena ("things done"), a dramatic reenactment of the Demeter/Persephone myth
2. deiknumena ("things shown"), displayed sacred objects, in which the hierophant played an essential role
3. legomena ("things said"), commentaries that accompanied the deiknumena.

Each of these steps are staged as a series of events in game.

Initiation Phase

The initiation begins with domena. It is basically a reenactment of Persephone getting abducted. There is a ship with the name "Child", acting as persephone, that roams through open space of the system Nysa. You can find this ship by flying between Nysa A, Nysa B, Nysa C, and finally terminating at Arend Station some time. It is important to be conscious of your fuel consumption as Child flys by the stars.

Child

WTaVWoK.png

Child, as of yesterday, appears only to fly a Viper MK IV. It may take some time to find but I have never seen the actor playing "Child" in any other ship model, I have noticed that Child may or may not be in a wing and am unsure if there is any significance in this. Either way follow the actor to Errand station. I am not entire sure what triggers "Child" to Frameshift to a new system but she will at some point jump. I think it is because another actor I haven't scanned yet jumps into Errand and chases "Child" out of the system.

When "Child" jumps, scan the wake and follow the ship. Eventually you will end up at another station. This is where you will find that "Child" is now gone, vanished from thin air just as the myth suggests. However, a new ship "Siren" is present for a short time before disappearing too, also indicated in the story of Persephone's abduction. Jump back to Nysa where you will be greeted with a "Mission Objective Detected" alert. Using the FSS scanner, scan out the signal source (Degraded emissions Threat 0) appearing in a light shade of blue; it will reveal the signal source is 580kLy out in the direction of Bernard's Loop. This objective doesn't have a timer.

This completes the domena phase of the initiation and moves on to the deiknumena phase.

deiknumena
"Things are shown". When you drop into the signal source you will find that there are 4 canisters, the one you will recognize immediately if you read about Persephone is the Grain canister. This is the canister that is associated with Persephone and Demeter. These are the items that will need to be used to complete the deiknumena phase of the initiation.

X6PAUSk.png

The direction this investigation goes from this event forward is unclear, realizing that I might be committing myself to an oath of silence as the myth suggests I stopped my research to write this report first before returning to my investigations. This guide WILL get you through the first stage of the initiation. From this point forward you proceed under your own freewill I am not responsible once you take the Oath of Silence.

Steps 2 and Steps 3 of the initiation still need to be completed:
2. deiknumena ("things shown"), displayed sacred objects, in which the hierophant played an essential role
3. legomena ("things said"), commentaries that accompanied the deiknumena.

How this relates to the Raxxla Codex entry:

"The parent's grief, the lovers woe" - the story of Persephone and Demeter which lead to the Eleusinian Mysteries events.

"The Siren of the deepest void" - The Siren who lost Persephone which appears during the Domena phase of the initiation.

"To the Jewel that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies" - Current theory: This relates to the deiknumena phase of the initiation, where the items recovered from the end of the Domena phase need to be brought.

"To the whisperer in witch space" - Current Theory: This relates to the legomena phase of the initiation. I believe the key here is "Remember Raxxla!". This is supposed to occur after deiknumena. I believe Hades will show you the way to Raxxla as suggested in one particular commanders screenshot of the ship.

uh... wow.

I am going to try this tonight.

Edit: I am still doubtful this is real. but my ship is 2 systems away, and can log in tonight.

I'll know and report back to this thread and the main one if this is fake, unless someone can check before me.

As I tried to ask with Guru-951 and his alleged findings. Why do you believe this is in any way related to finding Raxxla? Couldn't this just as likely be you grasping at straws? Seeing things that are simply benign and normal, but projecting your own desires upon them?

Don't want to be "that guy" but...

- Authority NPCs with names aren't uncommon, a bug that was supposedly fixed a while ago but still occasionally surfaces

- following NPCs... uff, careful with that. Why? Game mechanics.

-> their presence and perceived "persistence" is 100% fake. The Wake Scanner triggers it and is the only tool to make them spawn in another System again.
-> following an NPC and disengaging i.e. into a Signal Source instead of following the Low Wake will make the NPC vanish already; same when manually jumping into a Wake-Scanned System instead of auto-jumping via Wake Scan (or another Player waiting in the Target System - the NPC will never appear there)
-> following an NPC into a new System will reveal that the NPC flies to RNG Systems within short range and in there, fly towards RNG disengage points (the now-persistent USS are valid spawn and disengage points for NPCs!)
-> "Mission Objective Detected" USS - V3.3 Scenarios! They're quite common if a System Faction qualifies for them, so don't let that fool you thinking you found "something special". Any traffic entering that System will see them.
(i.e. if you're a random Traffic jumping into this very System, you'll also automatically get the Audio Message "Mission Objective Detected" as well despite carrying no Missions, this is completely normal)

So if you follow any clean NPC just long enough, you'll have the RNG eventually give you a sequence of "events" that might make you think you were onto something. Don't let RNGesus and the mechanical NPC Scripts fool you.
It's been extensively tested since years and nothing ever came from it (other than realizing that NPCs - as expected - don't make any sense and the Scripts they follow are extremely basic).

I realize this is probably fake or misconstrued, but just because a function was tested in the past, doesn't mean it has been tested/performed the right way. What if all the NPCs follow that script structure except one?

My main theory is that we have to target a specific star from a specific system, and as we are starting the jump, make sure we are lined up through a black hole (but far enough away to not hit the exclusion zone).

Everyone has jumped millions of times, but my theory involves jumping between two specific systems, in a specific manner. This is common in game design easter eggs. use normal functionality in a specific way to find something secret.

Sure, any Player could dedicate the next 6 years following NPCs.
But the odds of finding something different is structurally extremely slim, just because of the simplistic design.

In all other past similar constellations, entire Groups testing virtually everything mechanically possible found out... nothing. Not Scripted, nothing happened.

I have to admit I've made plenty of "awkward" Hyperjumps, just to see if they would produce something. Anything.
Unsurprisingly, nothing ever happened, no matter where the Ship was pointed at, what Control Inputs were given or if the jump occurred inside the body exclusion zone or on the cone of a Neutron or a Black hole. Others have long tried the same, attempt to force the classic mis-jump.

Easter eggs and associated Gimmicks require alot of attention & love to Detail - but aside from the V1.0 (System names or System Map descriptions) virtually none could be observed anymore. Rather the opposite I'm afraid.
Thus, "overthinking it" or being like "they might have thought of that" typically ends up being a huge waste of time. No, they didn't consider it nor has anyone thought about it. As cool as it often would have been, that's now how things work around here.

Still, no harm in sinking time into fooling around like that, everybody can do it.

PS.
If anyone remembers the elusive "Founder/Dark Wheel/ELITE" Missions for example, you'll also remember they always pointed to something interesting - only to end up being a completely fake dead end.
Meaningless and misleading fluff, very similar to all the previous/past Galnet duds. Interesting read - nothing associated in-game. Perception management and marketing. All hot air but no action, sadly.

IMHO "Raxxla" could be just that - fooling an entire Playerbase into chasing Ghosts and keeping them busy without having a single asset in-game. A pure myth.
And being vague and unaccountable like they always are, they can rightfully claim "the Quest" and resulting 'myth' itself was "'Raxxla" and still keep a straight face.
Being pure lore/roleplay - just check this very Forum header - it'd be ASCII-only just like GALnet. The hype then would be Raxxla - what Players in their RP fantasy made of it and triggered their personal actions/investigations.
From a RP perspective, nothing wrong with that.

Commendable statement Cmr. Everyone wants Raxxla to be 'something' but to blindly stumble forward with nought but faith is folly, one should always be speculative.

I'll entertain any theory because honestly tin-foiling in this game is as much fun as playing it and it gives us a reason to play, to explore.

I'd been on an almost 12 month self imposed break from Elite and all this Raxxla razzmatazz has re-ignighted my passion for exploration.

Could it all be just a myth, of course and in reality Raxxla was just that in the other editions of the game. Its quite likely Raxxla is in game simply as a myth or lore, they've done it before.

Lets hope there's more to this, currently I'm still role playing so the myth adds spice to the game, I honestly hope if Raxxla does exist we don't find it.

Tried four times, found Child twice. The first time it was a local cop in a Viper 3 already at Arend and flew around in big spirals, didn't go anywhere after half an hour. The third run, Child was a Viper 3 Shield of Justice in SC, it low waked into empty space, then high waked to Gende, then low waked and disappeared. Siren did not appear at any point.

I think everyone should find it very suspicious that the system Nsya is not searchable Until you view it on the galmap. That is a until now an unreported game mechanic.

There is multiples systems in-game that can't be found by the displayed name or can be found by multiple names. Run into a few system like this when searching cassiopeia constellation stars and HIP ones.

Then FDev needs to confirm if this is a bug or not.

I think Raxla is only available in open, isn't it?

I think everyone should find it very suspicious that the system Nsya is not searchable Until you view it on the galmap. That is a until now an unreported game mechanic.

I also tested this. I searched for 'nys' and it took me to it. Maybe I'd jumped through it before, but I'd definitely never typed it in before then. Child wasn't the only ship name I saw repeated in that system between runs, either. And I do recognise the name Child, seen it plenty of times before. From my experience nothing in the OP works.

Hi, I'm hunting the void, have some clues that I have came across myself. This strange circle appeared in a system I was in, I jumped out and jumped back and it is persistent. You can't fly towards it and get closer, but you can turn away from it. It's always in the same place and seems to either be a glitch or deliberate marker/pointer?
