General / Off-Topic RCTWorld General Discussion

Again it is just eye candy and those guests look pretty lifeless, plus the fact did you notice, they are all wandering around alone. Where are the family groups? I can't see any. [bored]

I think they need to get this 2nd Beta out a.s.a.p. and make sure they have made a good job of it, if they want to get back on track. It's their only hope to win back those that are loosing faith in the game becoming a success.

i dont think its confirmed, but they're leaning towards not having a 2nd beta [blah][blah].
anyways, you have a point, they haven't shown almost ANYTHING about the peeps! even though they're a huge part for a theme park sim! hell, they made the peeps INVISIBLE in the beta!

[where is it] not confirmed, but do you think so? No 2nd beta? I know they've postponed the 2nd beta twice already, not having a final date at the moment... I'm keeping an eye on the RCTW forum, but feel posting over there does not really have any benefits anymore.

I try to be positive, tried to bring a positive mood to the forum, but the negativity is becoming larger every day...

Atari is posting more media, that's something, but by far not enough in this time of technology and social media, and considering the phase the game should have reached by now, being officially max. 3 months from release, I and others expect a lot more media and insights in the game. That is, if RCTW has reached one of the final phases yet, something which I highly doubt. [confused]

Such a screenshot would blow away RCTW instantly [rolleyes]

Yes haha :p

But I like the Planet Coaster community. Everyone is nice to each other. We try to come up with ideas for the developers. Others come again with ideas. I don't have that feeling on the RCTW forums. And they are censoring links and posts related to Planet Coaster... That's so stupid!

I have had a browse on the Atari forum and there is a lot of animosity on there a.t.m. because things are not going well for RCTW. It is a shame really and to be honest I feel it for Nivizzio rather than Atari. I think Atari may be putting quite a bit of pressure on the dev team, to get things sorted fast. This must make the dev team a little nervous and being under pressure are trying to pull out all the stops to get the game up to standards.

They are receiving lots of flak on the Atari forum and also on youtube and facebook, so this too is not helping the dev team to feel very confident. When you are working against the clock in a situation like this, your enthusiasm must start to deteriorate when under pressure and I think this could be the case. We don't really know, but that's my opinion. Plus, Niivizzio know, that Frontier are hot on their heels and are getting some pretty positive results, so this too must be playing on their minds. They also know that Frontier have more experience with this type of game.

Whether any planned water rides were going to be part of the first game release or not, we don't know, but maybe they were going to add these, but because of all the problems and set backs with the coaster builder, decided to drop them, because they were running out of time. Even the guests in their game have been another issue, because it seems that these were left for dealing with, towards the end of the game, whereas, Frontier have dealt with the guests from the start and made a pretty good job of them too.

I think we were all looking forward to two great games, but I have my doubts that we are not really going to see this with RCTW at the end of the day.

As for Planet Coaster and Frontier, we are at least confident that we are going to get a decent game, with the new look everything that Frontier is putting into it. They don't have a publisher, looking over their shoulder, they gave us RCT3 and they know that they can do better with advanced technology, and so far they are delivering. We may not have seen any proper game play yet, but at least we know that the game is being developed with passion and commitment and dedication in everything about how they are designing it and that makes us all very happy. If we are happy, then this must make Frontier happy too. Frontier have built up a relationship with the community and their aim is to give us the best game possible. They are all working very hard and I am very pleased about it.

But for the sakes of Nivizzio I do hope they can at least get out a decent game, I'm not saying it will be better than Planet Coaster, but if it looks promising by March, then I think they will gain the support they had at the beginning.

You're right! I saw you over there as well recently, if you are PSPfreaky over there too.

I love the community on this forum of Planet Coaster, it's great to be here with all of you! [big grin]

Yes haha :p It looks just friendship hahahaha :p

I have read they have banned someone for posting about Planet Coaster. I don't know if it's true.

We should be able to mention Planet Coaster without the fear of getting banned. It's so frustrating!

I learned the lesson, if you talk here about ''the other game'' or post something about this game, they will ban you, this happened to me a week ago, I was banned for many days for do this...

Your fans have the fear of being banned...

And I'm thinking of making a Dutch Planet Coaster website to promote the game.

I'm with you on this Coasterbuff !

Coasterbuff, me too, like Angelis, I'm with you. You are completely right.

I feel for Nvizzio, and hope for the best, because they are putting a huge amount of effort into RCTW. I hope it will turn out good for them in the end.

I also feel a bit for Mattlab, though it sounds strange, maybe.
I have the impression that he is under direct control of someone (or more) higher in command at Atari, who are directly controlling everything that is published, including publishing strategy, and also determine the words Mattlab uses. That is maybe why he keeps going on about awesomeness and why he shushed away the Q&A in the last stream, not answering "hard hitting questions" that he asked for, but ignored completely during the stream. Only a few simple questions were answered, nothing spectacular.

I'll keep visiting the RCTW forum, but feel like I don't want to post a lot over there anymore, as it doesn't really matter, for as far as I can see. I'm more watching from the sideline, maybe putting in some concerns, try to put a bit of positivity in when possible and when for valid reasons.

We'll see how it goes with RCTW in a couple of months (or more in case of another postpone of release).

Now returning to happy thoughts with Planet Coaster. This calls for another play of Tread fast! [big grin]

Ahhh... [praise]

I think it's true, but I can't verify that.

Edit: I wrote some experiences in this post, but due to respect for the community I have removed it. Thanks Brett for pointing us on it. I edited this post voluntarily. If anyone wants to read what I wrote, please send a PM.

My apologies if I have offended anyone.

I wish them well. [up]

And to end this post:

Great idea, a Dutch Planet Coaster website!!! For as far as I know, it doesn't exist yet. I'll join right in when it's launched! [yesnod]

Hey guys, in respect of the other game communities, let's not delve into the subject of other community moderation actions and policies please. It's a murky path that doesn't bode well for any community. [happy]

I know! It is more a fight.

Maybe a fun video? and than we end this threat because we want no fights.

Well said Brett. What goes on over there is their decision. But I find this forum to be much more relaxed than the American forums, that's why I don't take part over there, I just have a look at what's being said and to be honest, I am not really impressed. I just hope that they can sort out their differences and stop all this arguing amongst themselves.
Forums are meant for passing on comments, good or bad, not to start arguing, it's just a game that is going through a bad patch at the moment and I just hope that it will turn out good at the end.

I am not in any rush to buy RCTW, because I really prefer Planet Coaster out of the two, it's more my style of game, with some really nice happy looking guests, which hopefully, will play a big part in a good management of the game, which is what we are all hoping for.

To be honest, I much prefer the image that Frontier have created with the guests, rather than the more human aspect of the guests in RCTW. Those last group we have seen on here of the entertainers are a credit to Zac and I don't think anyone was expecting something like this for the game. Frontier are pulling out all the stops in this department, to give us not only a good Coaster/Theme Park game, but one that we can enjoy and feel part of, through our guests which have been lovingly created. I really do feel they are human, well almost.

But I do wish both games every success, but my deep feeling for success lie with Frontier and always will.

Maybe I can use it for my study :p Creative Media & Game Developments (making websites, apps, small games, etc)

@Coasterbuff +1. I will buy both games but I know I will play Planet Coaster more than RCTW :)

Mmm, those screenshots from RCTW do look interesting. It looks quite nice from above. Graphics are pretty good now for RCTW. But still I'm looking forward to what's under the hood. Management, guests, AI?
