Reason to Kill Thargoids and Increase Thargoid Mat Despawn Time

First, please give us a reason to fight the Thargoids. I have been fighting Thargoid scouts in a Chiefain (non-AX weapons) and it is a lot of fun (which is its own intrinsic reward and currently the only reward). I have been doing this in a system overrun with Thargoids with a still-function station. But there is not so much as a "thank you" for my defending their base from the Thargoids.

It would be just swell if there were "fight the Thargoids\defend our base" sorts of missions. The reason? Well, the money we get for killing a Thargoid (10k CRs) barely pays repair and restock. The mats dead Thargoids drop seems to be the only good thing about killing Thargoids but frankly, other than for synthesizing ammo for AX weapons that I don't use, I don't know what use it is for but I have been collecting it anyway.

Second, since the mats dead Thargoids drop appear to be the only reason to fight the Thargoids at present, please increase their despawn timer. By the time I am done killing all four scouts, half of the mats that have dropped have already despawned or very nearly so.
 
depends on how quickly you kill them, you using fixed or turreted AX weapons?

while fixed uses more skill and deals more damage, it does present yourself to blind spots. I use turrets in mine as they track and continue fire with almost complete top hemisphere of the ship in field of fire, they can even shoot targets tailing you!

do this and the mats can easily be collected as you dispatch enemies quicker. collecting mats is the best reward, it is more than likely new tech broker weapons will be released, and with enough mats stockpiled you will be the front of the line!

as for payouts, these are apparently low due to the stacking ability of missions on rescue ships (which is yet to come!) so you may find that killing a few scout may be worth 100s of thousands and likely millions in the future!
