I was hoping that we'd finally see rng there after years of just a pilot with a helmet on. Still, even if it was RNG, there are only really about 10 distinctive variants and they're all instantly recognisable now on the concourse so...

Still be nice to see. So long as they all have the same sneer as my EDO commander, it'll be fair game.

I did a fair number of Apex trips this week, and had the same African-American female pilot with an Arkansas drawl carting me about. I figured she just hadn't picked up any other passengers between dropping me off and the next time I'd summoned her. She did change up the patter from one trip to the next, at least.

I've noticed if you take an apex in and out of a port you get the same pilot that dropped you off taking you out again. Noticed it when I was ferried all around a system by a dead ringer for Fred Johnson of the Expanse.
Not sure if it's intentional or not, but it's not an issue, if you raced across the galaxy and then got the same pilot in Colonia it would be....
