Recommended System Requirements

I was just wondering when we'd be getting the recommended specs (currently in the process of debating what to upgrade).

I would recommend the best of the best in graphics, just to be sure everything runs as smooth as possible, my friend. Also at least 8GB of RAM.

So far on steam we only have the minimum requirements:
Processor: Intel i5-2300/AMD FX-4300
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GTX 650 (2GB) /AMD Radeon 7850 (2GB)

I would say any I7 processor from third generation upwards
Memory: 16 GB
Graphics: GTX 870

Mine has a I7 6900K
16 GB DDR4
Gtx 1080 gaming X
I think I'm safe for a while.

Even though, I'm hoping for in-game options to increase performance in mid-end computers! :)

Thanks for the replies, currently I have an i5 3570 16gb ram and an r9 280, any thoughts on what to upgrade for 1080p gaming, i was thinking a gtx 1060 or rx 580 8gb.

Thanks

I would go for the GTX 1060 but the 6GB version not the 3GB.
The rest seems fine but of course newer generations of cpu's are better but it will also have to be compatible with your motherboard.
Edit, you can see the benchmark comparison here:

They might release the recommended system requirements just a few days before the game is released. Maybe 5 days or so. I would just put my money aside and wait till then and see what they are. It depends on what kind of settings you want to use. If you want to play on medium or low settings than you can go by the minimum system requirements. If you want to play at max settings than wait for the recommended requirements.

The GTX 650 is a pretty old card by todays standards. It was released in 2012, so that's a little over half a decade. With all the animations and everything in this game I would imagine to play on max settings you will need something more current. A 1060 may be fine. Though I would go with a 1070 if you can afford it. But like I said a 1060 will probably be ok. Also any of the new AMD cards should also be fine. If you want to buy a used GPU you can always get one of the GTX 900 line cards or R9 390. I have an R9 390 and it plays anything I throw at it. Though it does run a little hot and it can get noisy.

Your CPU is good and so is the RAM. So I imagine everything else is in order. All you need is a GPU upgrade.

Yeah that's probably a good idea to wait, maybe the gpu prices would've gone down a bit more as well by then.
Thanks!

Depending on the CPU you have with a GTX 1070 should go to 1080p / 60fps with everything to the maximum. The 1070 is a graphic that easily drops any game at 1080p.

I have an i7 3770K, 16GB RAM and 1070 GTX and I hope to play at full 1080p / 60fps. I do not think the game asks too much, you have to remember that it is also will be launched for consoles and the consoles are very outdated already. It will be better optimized than Planet Coaster that was released only on PC without console limitations.

The PC usually has graphics settings that the consoles can't use cause of hardware limitations. So what looks good on consoles might look even better on the PC, even at 1080p.

Prices have been falling steadily I have heard. GPU's that were going for $700 or $800 are now selling for the MSRP or a little below now.

Yeah, in July they bring out the 11 series, I can see them dropping more then.
I bought my PC when the GTX 1080 came out, expensive but so worth it.

Surely in consoles the game will be blocked 30fps because the consoles do not give more than itself.

I hope that he will not ask too much. Graphically it is very beautiful but it is nothing pointer of the latest technology. I would be disappointed to have fps drops with a GTX 1070 going to 1080p

The 1080 is a little too expensive for me. Hell $500 for a 1070 is too expensive. But like you said they are getting ready to put new cards on the market so the prices will drop. If a 1080 goes to the price of a 1070 I might get one.

A 1070 should do 1080p with maximum graphics settings just fine. Matter of fact it might even be over kill. I am thinking about getting a 1070 cause I may upgrade to a higher quality 1440p monitor.

Considering this was made with the Cobra engine as well, does that mean that if you can run Planet Coaster at a decent speed then you can also run this?
With a mix of medium and high (mostly medium) graphics settings in Planet Coaster, I can run it without lag and I've got an AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor with 8GB RAM.

It's made on a improved Cobra engine but I think that's a safe assumption to say that it will run the same as Planet Coaster.
