General Remove Mission Only Items. Or make Stations Guarantee such Missions at all Times.

But my Problem is not with something being Special or only being Obtainable in a Certain Way.
Its in that Specific Way here which is needed to Obtain it.

Because Sorry. But Sitting in Front of a Mission Board and Waiting for it to Reset because that is the Only way of Getting a Certain Item you need.
Is neither Deep nor Exciting nor Fun nor in any Way Special.
Well then maybe you should have lead with that, instead of REMOVE MISSION ONLY ITEMS. And followed up with some constructive ideas for how the experience could be improved.

And the Difference to me having Watched Anime while Waiting for the Mission Board to Offer Modular Terminal Missions is what exactly ?

Guys.
I am not Talking Chinese or something do I ????

The Point of the Suggestion is.
That they should NOT have a Commodity that by some Magic is only Available by Waiting for the Dice to Roll a Favorable Number and Offer you a Mission to get that Item.

See Guys. If you want Guardian Tech. You have to get the Blueprints which you can only get by doing the Scanning and Stuff on Guardian Ruins.
Thing is. That is something you actually do.
Its a Task you actually Challenge and get a Reward for if you Succeed.

But the Modular Teminals as well as other Items you only get from Missions. Is Different.
You have no Influence on wether you get that Mission.
You have to Wait for that Mission to Pop up. End of Story.
You can do other things like Trading or Flying in Circles while you Wait. Or like I did. Just put the Game into Background and Watch Anime.

But it doesnt Change the Fact that in the End. You are just Waiting for your Next Dice Roll hoping that you will get Offered a Mission that gives Modular Terminals.

You basicly get 2 Standard Dice. And to get the Mission you have to Roll a Number Higher than 8.
You can Roll the Dice once each 10 Minutes or each time you Arrive at a Different Station.

But the thing about Rolling the Dice doesnt Change.

If I want to Roll Dice. I play a Board Game Guys. Not Elite Dangerous.

Sorry CMDR but I think your attitude is all kinds of wrong and confrontational and not really helpful to a discussion. That being said, the difference is that I actually played the game and had fun while you waited for something to come to you. I'm not telling you how to play your game, but by offering insight into how I play and work towards my mission rewards, engineering materials and the like, it might help you see things from a different perspective. If you treat it as an RNG grind an RNG grind it shall be. Or, treat it as a casual spaceship game and just take the mission rewards as and when they're offered until you've got enough 🤷‍♂️

Oh, and if the boardgames you play are nothing more involved than 'rolling dice' you're playing the wrong ones...

Erm.
I do think Removing Mission Only Items is Pretty Exactly Leading with that lol.

Thats why the Topic was not Named "Remove Items you can only get by one Specific Way"
But was Named to Remove Stuff only Obtainable by Missions lol

No, it's really not.

A constructive suggestion might be along the lines of, there should be a way to get information about what stations/factions are more likely to be offering these missions. Because it's definitely not uniformly random, and maybe if they like you enough an NPC could give you a tip. That's just an example, there's many other ways one could imagine adjusting the experience.

"Delete this feature, I Don't Like It!" on the other hand, is the oldest and lowest-effort cliche post on these forums, and will never ever be taken seriously.

My Attitude is called "Annoyed" it happens when other People just wont Understand what your Talking about and keep giving you useless Answers Unrelated to the Topic.
It tends to cause Frustration you know.

And No.
Nothing more Involved there.

Your Rolling Dice.
Because you dont get to Decide What Missions you Get.
You can only Hope one of them Offers Terminals.

Thats called Rolling Dice. Because there is no Skill Factor here.
The moment you Open the Mission Board you get a Randomly Generated Set of Missions.
And either it Offers Modular Terminals or it does not.

And if it doesnt. You have to Wait till you can Roll the Dice again.
You can do whatever you want in that Time. Fly to other Stations, Watch Anime or even go to the Toilet if you want.
But the Fact doesnt Change that you have no Influence on getting it.
You just have to Roll the Dice till you get it.

Small Experiment for you.

Take 5 Dice.
You need a Number Bigger than 30
You can Roll the Dice once every 10 Minutes or you can take a walk up and down your Street and Roll them again once you come back.

Have Fun.
Tell us how many Attempts you needed. And wether you Found that to be Engaging and Fun Gameplay.

lol

So I should Suggest to them to Rework the Entire System of how Missions work just to get Rid of a Single Part for which that Mission System is Used ?
Talk about Unecessary.

Mate.
Not sure you know this.
But Missions are Randomly Generated.
There is no Requirement of Information or anything.
You Press Mission Board. And it Gives you a Random Set of Missions.

Either you are Lucky and get one that offers Modular Terminals. Or you are not Lucky.
End of the Player Involvement.

There is no Tips from NPCs or anything Required.

Essentially, the OP is annoyed that a mechanic that doesn't seem to have particularly bothered anyone posting so far - but give it time and I can think of a few names I wouldn't be surprised to see supporting him :)

I can't find any dice in-game - are they a mission reward?

Guys, however you want to look at this OP has a very good point. I just finished Qwent run so I know exactly how boring and stupid collecting MT was. On top of that you can not do anything else as those things take storage space - not every one have T-9 you know. I use my Cobra MK III for collecting materials and I have to say that locking anything behind walls/missions/any obstruction is plain stupid. Say whatever you want to say but this very good example of unnecessary grind...

Well with such convincing diplomacy I’m sure the devs will be making the changes you demand quick sharp :ROFLMAO:

You’re going about it the wrong way. You’re looking at the mission board for your modular terminals and getting stinky that they’re not guaranteed to be there. I’m looking at the mission board and thinking what missions help my faction, my squadron, or take me in the direction I’m going. If they offer me modular terminals as a reward that’s a bonus. My engaging gameplay is, you know, actually doing the missions and mooching about space in between, and not whinging like a petulant child that a system that seems to work perfectly adequately for the greater community doesn’t suit you 🤷‍♂️

Part of the game is dealing with the hand you're given. If the missions give you no MTs, then make do without MTs. At some point you will find what you want, but of course it's your choice whether to make the time in between a grind or to just enjoy the trip and marvel once the game throws you a little something.

If you dont know where the Dice are dont feel bad about it.
People dont get to Decide how much Intelligence they get.
Not your Fault. I am just not a Good enough Teacher to Explain it to you.

Talking about Diplomacy and then throwing Insults.....

On top you still keep going on about Wasting Time doing things I dont need to do while Waiting for the Next Dice Roll.
Still not getting that what I am Complaining about is the Dice Roll itself...

I dont know if your just Pretending to not Get it to Annoy me. Or if you Really Lack the Required Intelligence to Understand what I am saying and what I am Annoyed about.
But it doesnt matter. I have no Intention of wasting any further time on you.

Have a Nice Day.

Firstly... :ROFLMAO:

Secondly...

I know exactly what your whinging about (I’m not going to dignify it by calling it complaining) and if you think playing the game is wasting time then you’ve got the wrong game pal...

On a more serious note, OP seems to be locked on his issues with the game and can't see solutions or alternatives staring in his face. His choices, but my opinion is he is playing the wrong game for what he is after. (easy winnings, the ol' famous big red win button) There's a lot of issues with this game, but I don't think this particluar subject is one of them

Nope. You guys just either really lack the Intelligence to get it.
Or you pretend to be lacking it on purpose.

The Issue I have is that to get a Specific Item.
You have to Rely on a Random Generator offering you a Mission with that Item as Reward.

Thats Called RNG Mechanics. Or Rolling Dice.
Because right now. Each time you get to Refresh the Mission Board. You have a Dice Roll.
The Missions are Randomly Generated.
So wether or not you have a Mission Available that Rewards the Item is 100% down to Luck.
You Roll the Dice.

You guys have not offered any Solutions to this.
You Solutions so far are.
Roll the Dice at Different Stations,
Do something else between Rolling the Dice,
Just keep Playing and Roll the Dice once in a while.

Notice Something ?
My Suggestion is to Remove the Roll the Dice Part.
But all of your Solutions still Include Roll the Dice

Its nice one of you got the Mission right away.
Because thats how Dice Rolls Work.

One Guy might get Double 6 on First Throw.
While another might Throw the Dice 30 Times and wont get over 10.

Or. So even the Kids get it. Since apparently some People do not posses the Required Intelligence to get that Metaphor.

One Guy might Open the Mission Board once and get a Mission Offered with that Item as Reward.
While another one might Open that Mission Board 30 Times and still doesnt get a Mission which Rewards that Item.

What you guys are Offering. Is not Solutions.
You are telling others to just Roll the Dice till they get Double 6.

And guys....
Stop with that Pitiful Attempt of trying to make it look like I just want stuff for Free.
I already finished that stuff.
I earned my Conda befofe there was Passenger Cabins or Limpets.
And I dealt with that mission Bullcrab before Posting here.
So you trying to make this look like I just want to get something easy. Just ends up making yourself look like Clowns.

I want to remove a Senseless Dice Roll from the Game that has no Gameplay Value or Challenge.
They could effectively put up a Dice Roll Screen on these Engineers requiring such Items.
And just give you a Dice Roll every 10 minutes to Unlock him.
That would be 99% the same as right now.

And thats Bullcrab and should be changed.

Just as a general observation.

I spend quite a lot of time reading through topics on this forum - some are interesting, other amusing, a few informative and enough 'salty' ones to restock Siberia.

In the recent past there have been a few (literally) threads appearing complaining about some (normally minor) game mechanic that has suddenly became intolerable - but not by new players, rather the 'elders' who have been members since the game launched, or earlier...

I'd expect a new player to be be bleating about 'grind' - pretty much a given - but is this a sign that the 'elders' are 'falling out of love' with the game but are too stubborn to walk away gracefully? Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Shoulda said MTs earlier. I have 1000 of the things sitting on my carrier available for sale for months. 🤷‍♂️

That is fine. I ended up buying MT as collecting them via missions was almost impossible. I agree with OP regardless what others are saying. Guy is right. Current MT mission drop is B/S and does not add to the game, it is pointless rubbish mechanics. All those who shout that he should just shut up and just play the game are absolutely oblivious to simple logic. Game adds unnecessary grind where it is not needed. There is no skill involved in this, there is no reason to lock MT like that. And yes, majority of posters here need to get off their high horses... OP expressed his opinion. You may not agree with him but bashing him like that is way below any reason guys...

I, naturally, won't disagree with your opinion...

But...

Just about every game I've seen with a target audience of 7+ has very simple to quite complex 'challenges' for the player... Should such a mechanic be removed?
