These are not 'your' stations though, are they. You are only the system architect, the system designer. Never have Frontier said these are player owned assets. I also can't understand why anyone would want to restrict access.
I have a Coriolis providing Steel, Titanium, Aluminium, amongst other commodities near the edge of the bubble, and over the past 3-4 weeks or so there have been half a dozen or so carriers I presume loading up with materials. I love the fact that I'm helping other CMDR's out with the building of their systems.
I have also topped up the Tritium tanks on 3 of the carriers so far. Feels great. 😀

Why not go even further?
Add some players permit locks on the whole systems you own.
This might, of course, bring ganking to the next level, but totally worth for the players of your kind seeking privacy. ;)

This is such a crap 'feature'
Not really. Stations would be fairly useless if they could be switched off on a whim.

Stations are also destinations for missions, so you'd basically make the mission board redundant. All it would need is a couple of stories of people not being able to complete a mission because someone locked the mailslot and a central pillar of the game would be gone.

People who wanted base building need some time to accept that Colonisation is not a synonym or equivalent feature.

So let me see if I have got this right
  • You want an economy that accepts only goods from you and sells it to.....you.
  • Staffed by .... you.
That would be an empty shop then.
  • Perhaps a bar, where you serve drinks to yourself. Oh wait, this is Elite, no drinks allowed here.
So no commerce here then. Perhaps its a manufacturing centre with a big factory staffed entirely by you. Lets call that a garden shed perhaps.

Or perhaps you could open it up to a couple of your mates. I'd like to see company survive on those principles. Imagine Walmart only allowing one family in their store. Instant bankruptcy.

So it won't buy, sell or manufacture anything. It won't have missions because nobody can land there to set them. Just a load of empty rooms, the space equivalent of a ghost town.

What would you do in this empty shell? Talk to yourself. Use it to store your stuff. Wander round exclaiming "This is mine, mine, MINE!!"

Then you could wander from there and visit the neighbouring systems where other people would go "No, you can't land here, it mine, its where I store my stuff".

Sorry, I'm not getting it. Please explain the appeal of this in a so called MMO game.

In the post questions about colonisation thread last year the question, Would FDev confirm that we won’t be allowed to permit lock a colonised system, their answer was a definite no.
'No' as in they won't confirm? Or no to "we won't be allowed", so yes? Or "No, you're right. You can't." 😵‍💫

😜 I assume the latter.

Why you even would need that? FC's already exists and actually have such feature.

You know, in solo... you wont be seeing any players in so-called "your" station. You can always pretend its permit locked and its only for you.

But lets be real here.... Given amount of colonized systems, I suppose that cmdr trafic at this system would be counted... with single hand at most. Truly an serious threat to local BGS!

Surely somebody was the first to find your system, scan the body a station is orbiting, and maybe landed there. Minor faction in control might have supporters and founders who might claim right of say and ownership over all sorts of things. Maybe a superpower comes over, or a Power and they claim ownership. Sometimes somebody has spent time in a system, maybe years ago, taken some pictures and written a novel about it, and feels like the place is rightfully theirs. There could be somebody with a combat ship and an interdictor, and say they have the right. Being a system architect is just another layer.

It's not your station, and that is the biggest problem with trailblazers, you should be able to build a station and customize it. All they had to do was apply the code to a station for a fleet carrier, maybe tweak a bit and make it non-moveable. The more I think about it I can't believe they didn't do this.
