Yeah.
Hence why if FD ever makes single shard server universe game with player driven politics, economy, production and drama, making ship wrecks and minerals both essential for industry and asset production, coupled with the awesome flight model, VR and Galaxy generator of ED, it will be the winner IMHO. No other game would ever contest it for the next 20+ years.

Not with P2P and combat logging :).

SC promised all this though. We will see.

So a shut down and complete rewrite of the game will bring you happiness!

Eve online content.

The content does suck, I am here mainly because of the flight and fight models.

The flight model is WWII flight in space...pretty crap for a space simulation....and for Eve content you will have to play Eve...the devs have clearly stated that this is not going to be a game related to Eve.

Whoa
I'm pretty aware of what ED was supposed to be from the get-go, buddy.
And even though I've played it for what it is and had my full share of fun for which I'm really thankful, I still wait for improvements, not necessarily in the EvE direction, mind you.

I was talking of a whole another new game/franchise. FD should have invested in that, instead of Dinos… but ofc I hope I'm wrong.

Then accept the game for what it isn't...(Hint: It's not Eve)...no executive control, crappy economics, and all about crap PVP. It's all about moving the PVE trophies to make the galaxy change....

Try actually reading my posts.

Dua its not eve, thats why I love it. You don't see a single post by me complaining about people not in open either. I just think you are wrong in saying PVP sucks in this game. I'm glad you like moving the PVE trophies around, thats a great part of the game that should be capitalized on more, you know more than most how the BSG is busted because CSG did a great deal of "Bug squashing"

I really enjoyed the Tharg station attacks and subsequent rescue missions, BTW. A small sign that something can be done in the right direction. Cautiously optimistic.

See, now I understand and I do appreciate what you're thinking here.
The only flaw I can see is "player driven"

I don't want "player driven" anything, because people suck.
And now I'm going to justify that with some examples;

 • Boaty McBoatface (for a science research vessel)
 • Gritsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Anti-slip Machiney (for a snow gritter)
 • Mr Splashy Pants (a whale, public name from Greenpeace)
 • Gushing Granny (a refused runner up entry for name of Apple Mountain Dew)

 • Hitler did nothing wrong (a refused runner up for the name of Apple Mountain Dew

So I say again, people suck and "player driven" is asking for something great to fast become something awful.

Perspective. Player-driven is not the same as player-commanded. That game's Player-driven economy and manufacturing are a huge accomplishment, 14 years in the making. Yet CCP intervenes a few now and then whenever needed to keep it on rails.

Heck Yea! Now I don't see the bubble taken over by Goids or anything but this is a new dynamic that I enjoy.

2 things, it's not "player driven" if CCP intervene. Having someone watch over the economy and make changes, removes all power from the players and shows the flaws in the system when the Devs have to step in.

Also, my second point is, I've seen that economy first hand and it isn't pretty. Using the market in EVE is like using a roulette wheel to gain your fortune. The game is rigged and only the house wins.
Which is why CCP have to step in from time to time.

It isn't a free player economy, when the Devs have to counter when the players are doing.

At heart I am a PVE person...but I came to this game with the hopes of PVP that actually made sense and had an influence in the game. That was dashed pretty quickly, and I came to terms with the design of the game. Moving the PVE trophies....that's all that matters. How can you tell? You can't PVP your way to a ship...any ship. You can't turn in bounties on a level equivalent with NPC's. You can't pirate enough players to make a living. You have to spend hundreds of PVE hours to grind enough stuff to make a PVP capable ship...AND have enough cash on hand to lose it.

I understand the PVP complaints and desires...and the only answer I have for those folks is to either embrace the game the way it is designed...or move on...because the design ain't changing. They might put some lipstick on the pig...but the pig will still oink.

The best in game economy is actually GW2. The market prices are set by the players and what they desire to pay for a given item.

There has been some inflation from the start....but it has held its own for the time it has been on the market.

Then again, it actually mirrors Real Life(TM). Our economy is Corporation-driven, but State-controlled to various degrees, depending on the country. Some are lax about it, some are protectionist to the extreme. CCP compares to a few European countries that 'let it rip' more often than not, and it makes the game have such depth that can't even be compared to ED's economy (let's agree on that at least?)

It's actually easy to make money in the markets, but sure there's risk involved. Also, scamming, market manipulating, these sorts of things that Real Life also has.

True that. I can only hope Elite can grow over time and change the design slightly... A separate Iron Man server *Cough* with open only and increased payout might fix that. You could PVP your way into a ship and one wouldn't laugh off a pirates demands.

But if you wanted to switch back to standard open, private you could..... even a fixed CQC.... Well if I win the lotto some day I will talk to Frontier :)

You deserve praise for that statement. It's miles away from your previous opinions expressed here.
And that's exactly what the majority of PvPers have advocated for in these forums: a system that allows PvP to have meaning and consequences, influencing the state of the galaxy, in equal grounds with the PvE BGS manipulating from the three modes. No one wants to hinder your ability to play the numbers/systems from Solo… at least that's not what we see in the comments, what we want is have additional PvP features that do so, too.

I comprehend that the big fear at hand is that it could become a nasty territory war during which the Solo player would be susceptible to lose territory to PvP groups… but I even nowadays we already have BGS groups doing exactly that in PG. And we have groups such as AEDC who can (and sometimes do) steamroll whoever they find in their wake.

Also as StiTch said, we are more than happy to support positive PvE additions to the game, we'd also gladly wait until some long awaited, much needed exploration features were added… it's not like we don't PvE either.

Edit: "you have given too much rep", "24h" yadda yadda

When I heard that killing an enemy player you would only get 1 merit I just got the idea why it sucked.
