Heavy judder in RES sites - yes or no

I definitely don't have this problem you describe about left/right image! I am using GTX970 strix, DK2, win7/i5, 10GB, ext mode. But I do have lag/judder when moving my head in SC.
Same for me. Judder is always present in head tracking when supercruising but 3D image is perfect all the time (GTX970 adn DK2).

The bug is obvious when you turn your head, but if I keep insisting and stay in SC both screens begin to be not synchronized like if one screen is not displayed at the same rate as the other because game lack time to do it. That mean I can have a certain view in my left eyes and a different view, in late, in the right one, so brain can't make the connection between both. And that happen without turning my head. So I have to close an eye if I want to continue and reach my destination. Possibly this happen more or less depending configuration/drivers/GPU, etc. People in oither threads playing on monitor seems to have the same bugs, fps dropping drastically after sometimes in SC, so it look like something not only for VR users.

I get exactly that, including the de-synchronization of screens / blurring in extremely busy systems. Never had an issue pre 1.4. Barely played the game in weeks now.

Strapped on the Rift and jumped back into the game after a few months of being away and I'm also having this issue. This is a real shame because (for me at least) frame rates everywhere except super cruise are better than they've ever been. Unfortunately, this makes travelling any sort of distance within systems very uncomfortable.

One thing that I notices is that in normal space all my CPU cores sit at about 40-50% utilisation. On first entering super cruise I see normal core usage, but then the utilisation on the first core steadily climbs and as it reaches about 70-80% the problems start and by the time it's getting about 90% on the first core the frame rate is probably in single figures, sound has started to break up and the Rift is losing positional tracking (colours desaturate). Usage on the second core ramps up a little as well, but not as much. The other cores stay at normal 40-50% utilisation.

I'm not sure whether the high utilisation on the first CPU core is the cause of the problems or just another symptom of the underlying issue, but the correlation with the frame-rate drops and related issues to pretty much spot on.

Fascinating how so many players are reporting to have supercruise stutter while support claims they cannot reproduce it.

I wonder what the new beta will bring? I've had to abandon Elite: Dangerous until this issue has been fixed. @Khaldur, funny - in another thread someone from Frontier said that they were aware of the issue and looking into it.

Edit:

Hey guys

This is a known issue and one the team are working on.

Thanks
Zac

I completely understand that not being able to play is a real dissapointment and one that we want to fix. There isn't any update other than the one I posted in the VR forum sadly but rest assured the bug will be on the devs radar and they will be looking into it.

Thanks,

Zac

Same problem here, game is absolutely unplayable atm. Frame rate in super cruise is less than 10.

Windows 10 Build 10576
Intel i5-2500k @ 4.5 GHz
8 GB DDR3-1333
Radeon R9 390 @ 1150/1700
Oculus Runtime 0.6.0.1

If anybody can test their DK2 with next 1.5 beta (when released probably by the end of this week) and tell us if this bug is gone or not... Thank you !

Will do.

I am also suffering this issue - but as I am farming at a H RES site which is 60 secs of SC from the base, I am putting up with it........

..........and at 1.5 mill CR every 30 mins, it is VERY worth it.........

Nosh

I'm finally playing on a DK2 and I'm getting major supercruise judder. I have the latest crimson driver for my AMD r9 390x. I think it might be specific to AMD. I don't know if it's something that went away and came back as I didn't have the opportunity to try it till now. Does anyone else get this? If not, does anyone know what I might be able to do to fix it?
I have the graphics setting to low.

Turn off shade cache to disk if AMD has this feature.

Thanks. I figured out what my problem was. I'm on an AMD gpu and I didn't realize that the Crimson software wasn't automatically updating to version 16.1 which is where the supercruise judder was fixed. The software kept saying it was up to date. But when I looked at the version, it was 15.2. I installed the 16.1 update manually and it's been good since.

Crimson really screwed VR stability for me .. crash after crash .. had to go back to some ancient drivers to fix it.
