Roccat Power Grid

Leaving space for the new key bindings (I'm sure everyone who has one will change layout then)

I made custom controls for the buttons I have so far so I can resize and reposition easily at least. Example Prev. Subsystem has become more important to me so it's already bigger than pictured now. Roccat is really great with a simpler joystick like the HotasX or X360 GamePad where we don't have all teh buttons like the x52/5 others

You can see on the later buttons I started adding what the keyboard press is, easier while things change in the alpah

I like the look of that! Do you have it published at the Roccat website so people can download it?

Couldn't figure out how to upload the grids in the 5 minutes I have, so here's some screenies of my grids.

One of these two (depending on what I'm up to) I run on my tablet, which sits between my throttle and my phone:

This one runs on my phone, between the tablet and the stick:

Macros:
Docking Request: [left UI panel] [UI select] [UI down] [UI Select] [exit UI mode]
Hyperspace to Locked: same as docking macro, but bigger button on the second device.
Ripple Fire Missiles: [Next Weapon group] [Fire Primary] [Fire Primary] [Fire Primary] [Previous Weapon Group]
Max Weapons: [Balance Power] [Add power to Wep] [Add power to Wep]
Min Weapons: [Balance Power] [Add power to Eng] [Add power to Sys] [Add power to Eng] [Add power to Sys]
Flash Lights: [toggle lights] [delay] [toggle lights]
SOS Lights: toggles lights on and off with timed delays to flash out SOS in Morse.

As I've said before, I'll make these all graphically awesome and publish when E-D hits Gamma, and I can pull some style ideas from the game interface. I'll also have a better idea of what I need and where.

nicely done

But doesn't this mean I'd need a third hand?

I've already got one on throttle and one on stick, or do I use my nose/tongue :p

It's really no different to letting go of the throttle to use a keyboard key, except that I can apply an icon and a label, rearrange the layout on the fly, and adjust the size of the buttons.

:(. Living in a dead zone is a pain in the rear. Cell phones will not work in my area. Only thing I could use is a kindle.

That's the thing, With the x52 Pro, you don't need to let go of the sticks, there's ooOOOooOOooOoodles of button combinations

I have an x52pro.
I have trouble remembering what the hat locations do, unless they are intuitive, like thruster controls, so I still find Powergrid useful. Just moving the UI navigation and more obscure targetting options to the grid freed up a lot of space on the hotas.

Don't need phone network signal, I don't have any at my desk either.
Well buying a cellphone is kinda waste of money for my area. To many dead zones. With my family we only go down to the valley every other week. So if the app work for a kindle or windows tablet that would be great.

Point. I'd assumed that, like me, you had a phone but had deadzones around your home.
Don't know about Kindle, I'll test it on my wife's when she gets home from her business trip on sunday. Can confirm it works on a Nexus android tablet.

**edit**
Looks from the website like it'll only run on iOS or Android devices for a PC

Having had a good play around with this now, including adding sound effects to buttons, I think I can safely say this will be part of my final set up.

It allows me to take some of the non combat functions from my X52 and free up those buttons.

Customizing the layout of the power grid is really simple, just can't figure out how to alter the text size on the buttons but I'll get there.

where you add the text in center box, theres a drop down next to it,, that will give you text size

I just can't see the point. :S

Yes it looks flashy but I have a whole keyboard full of buttons that aren't restricted by screen size on a smartphone or tablet. And my keyboard lights up in the dark too. Maybe with time and feedback on the forum I will see the benefit but right now I'm happy with my keyboard and hotas setup.

With a keyboard until I am really up to speed I am always thinking what key is that function bound to. With this I get a visual cue. Mind you I am old so the grey cells have slowed down, so its probably more to do with that.
