Safe Harbour Systems List

LEU - Agricultural System. Social Eleu Progressive Party -Independent and Democratic- runs the system. You want to head to the Finney Dock, the capital Orbis station, where you can also find "Eleu Thermals" which are rares. Just in case trading strikes.
I think you forgott and E there at the beginning ;)

And I can confirm Santjalan is a very good place (guess eleu too since its right nex to it), not a single interdiction coming back and going there.

For my returns I head to the empire (trying to build my rank) system of Wurun, its outside powerplay on the "east" side of the bubble.

We all worry when return to the bubble. Will we get interdicted before we can dock safely? Will all my hard work be for nothing? On top of this, many of the best builds for exploration are also instant death if roam into the wrong system while aligned to any power, or even no power at all!

If we are good at speed jumping, then we can safely hop between systems in the bubble before any NPCs or CMDRs even show up on our sensors. However that last few dozen Ls to our destination station is where the danger lies. Since power play, it is not uncommon to get interdicted 3 times before docking even at stations that are practically inside the corona.

What we need is a list of safe harbor systems for our intrepid explorers. Systems with high security that fall outside of the power play struggle. Idk if Shinrata Dezhra (sp?) is one of those systems? But the list needs to be long enough that we can post it openly for new players without worrying about griefers stalking the systems in Open.

So please post (or PM me) your favorite safe harbor system and once we get enough them. We will be able to more safely travel the stars in ships that are optimized for exploration without having to compromise heat or jump range. Something I think many of the peaceful and curious folks here would appreciate.

SAFETY TIPS FOR GETTING YOUR DATA TO DOCK:

-if playing in Open, when you jump to a system and immediately see a few ships on your sensors, it means that a CMDR has been undermining/fortifying/prepping in the area. Do not stop to see if the CMDR is friendly. Leave this system immediately.

-most stations face the planet they orbit. Some pilots like to save time docking by exiting SC from inside the orbit so they can line up for the mail slot more quickly. Of course this leaves you open to an ambush by malificent CMDRs who hide inside station orbits where you don't see them with all of the traffic until it's too late. A better tactic to avoid interdictions (which require access to your tail) is to overshoot the station and approach it from an outside trajectory so that your backside is only facing the outer planets and not every ship in the system.

-keep throttle on full from the moment you leave hyperspace. Do not slow for the star, just pull away from it and your speed wind drop below 0.3c. This is important because in order to be interdicted, your attacker needs to not only be in range, but also needs to be going as fast as you are. Since speed goes up logarithmically, if you start off faster, they can never catch you unless you slow down! This is another reason why overshooting a planet is a good idea.

-You will pick up speed a bit quicker if you head out of the systems plane because the mass of nearby planets won't slow you down. Also, head directly away from the star if possible, since the shortest path out of its mass locking field is a radial line outwards.

-if playing open or groups, then call a fiend to wing up with you. Make sure you nav lock on the slowest ship in the wing!

PERMIT SYSTEMS:

A few of the permit systems can be hotspots for CMDR activity and even power play nuisances, filled with NPCs with interdictors equipped. However, the more obscure ones would be good places to get away from the crowds. I imagine they have higher security than most systems and possibly lower NPC traffic. Be sure to check whether the system falls under the influence of the galactic powers before going there. Any control or contested system is likely to be filled with agents from several powers spoiling for a fight or looking for easy prey.

Here is a link for permit systems and the controlling faction that you need to please to gain access:

Systems outside the bubble, which currently are not owned by a major power:

17 Draconis (-306, 272, 50)
Exphiay (284, -129, 39)
Sothis (-343, 10, -346)
New Yembo (-335, 5, 74)

Systems outside Power Play:

krataula (-2, 52, 112)
dobunn (-55, 5, 119)
Varati

Reported Safe Systems inside the Bubble:

Cuachini: High-Tech, Medium Security, Independent, Corporate. Arrival point 6.09 Ls (Coriolis).
Hmon: Industrial, Medium Security, Independent, Corporate. Arrival point 14.93 Ls (Coriolis).

LEU - Agricultural System. Social Eleu Progressive Party -Independent and Democratic- runs the system. You want to head to the Finney Dock, the capital Orbis station, where you can also find "Eleu Thermals" which are rares. Just in case trading strikes.

SANTJALAN - High Tech system, controlled also by the SEPP. Corporate government. Cantor Terminal is a Coriolis station with all your needs for high tech components. However, the jewel of the crown is in the High Tech Lab Martinez City Oupost, where you can sell your data and feel you are collaborating for some serious research.

Buckyball 7 systems (edge of human space with stations/shipyards):

No Chianga
Cate
Wolonuigo
K'uanele
Shesmu
Chaona

*** Unsafe Border Systems***

Canopus (277, -132, -42) - Known Pirate Haunt

Can you please change the dark grey text to something else? It's very difficult to read for those with dark themes running.

Thanks,

Z...

here is a safety tip from someone who does pvp -
if you get interdicted put pips into your engine and submit the interdiction.
submitting an interdiction reduces your FSD cool down to 10s, double boost away right after you land and your attacker wont have time to get into sufficient gun range before you can jump.
and best to have a solar system selected that you know the alignment of so you can high wake out of the system right after or right away.

if you are exploration fitted whit no shield it won't hurt going into silent running while boosting away either.

trying to fight a pvp interdiction if you are not up for a fight is bad koala.
pvp players usually have plenty of practice and rarely loose an interdiction attempt, and if you loose the minigame you get the full FSD cool down.

This. Sound words indeed and it is exactly what I do whether I intend to run or fight, no point in the minigame just submit. If you are returning with several 1,000 systems of data then run. If you are in a combat vessel it gives you a couple of seconds advantage over the interdictor.

Oh, and Santjalan is a nice place to sell your data. 450Ls from the star, didnt even see another ship let alone another CMDR when I sold my data, and that was peak time.

Varati is now even safer, as The Canonn have moved in (officially as of 1.4 but already there sharing the UA love).

well, at the very moment varati has a decreased security level for a civil war, and the pirates local faction is up to an all time high of 30%... but i'm sure you gonna change that on the longer run?

Oh dear.

It's only last week that I found this place. When plotting a route back home I did a double take, thinking: "was this here all along?". I did visit with 20 mil in data, not to sell, but because I was curious.

I believe that is their plan. I personally am far, far away. ;-)

Edit: And I believe they are relying on the BGS to function properly - not sure how that battle is going...

Just to add one more 'safe harbour' in empire space, coreward, I will mention Bodhinga.

It has a coriolis with decent outfitting, within less than 10 LS of arrival and is right on the edge of the bubble. A very nice safe port to work from.

Almost all systems in Antal Utopia are safe harbours. There is a 100% increase on fines and bounties their on players up to no good in Antal systems. Additionally high rank Antal Commanders gain a 100% bounty bonus so will happily provide escorts. Further many Antal Players havea non agression pact with the Cumo crew and provide escorts of each other through their relative territory. That's at least hundred safe systems that are well patrolled with escorts available. Takurua is a large station and is one of these systems a few hundred light years outside of the bubble. Takurua is a joint venture between Utopia and Sirius Inc.

Sorry to be blunt, I have been out there since June. I have no PP experience nor affiliation so is there anything wrong with going directly back to Alioth? It's my "story home" I you want to put it that way...

I did as well earlier in the day...
Hang on, were you always a mod?
Am I going crazy?

Kano was mentioned in a previous thread...on the outskirts and station 13 LS from the main star

Personally I explore in Mobius to avoid the annoying humans that want to blow me up. Being close to the station on entry to the system helps avoid the NPCs that want to blow me up. I also dropped any PP affiliation several weeks ago.

I've seen a cpl posts about leaving the Exploring ship on the edge of the bubble and riding out there in the Combat ship.
How do you do this, other than parking the Exp ship, buying a sidey and getting killed, then selecting the base with your Combat ship?
Or did I just explain how it's done? :]

Getting killed in a Sidey will just re spawn you in base you last launched in your Sidey. You need to but a Hauler and use it as a taxi to shuffle your ships between stations.

In any case, this thread is pretty pointless tbh. I made it when I was pledged in PP. Currently unaffiliated and mostly get left alone by NPCs. Unless I am hauling cargo, which I never am while exploring...
