Hardware & Technical Saitek x55 rhino

I have x55 and the game detected it fine. Today I bought the pedals and when I go in game, the game won't detect the X55 profile on controllers, when I try to manually bind keys, it won't detect the x55 Throttle, it only detects the stick/pedals. When I disconnect the pedals from the USB and go back in game, it detects the profile and everyone works again. Is there a way to make X55 stick/throttle work with the pro flight combat pedals??:S

-edit-
Ok i figured out the problem, I also have Razor Orbweaver, and having it connected caused this problem. I disconnected the USB from my computer, now the game detects the x55 profile and now the throttle, pedals and stick work!

Very interesting...been reading all of these threads and you are the only other person that has an Orbweaver. Just wanted to let you know that I had the same problem with my Orbweaver. Have to unplug it it to use the X55, otherwise the drivers drop and the X55 goes inop. How interesting. That's two of us that have seen this anomaly.

X55 Rhino. Which spring do you use?

Okay gang. I have indecision issues as I like to have a stiffer spring for immersion purposes as I think the actual flight stick of the ship would be stiff if it existed in real life. So I use the green spring. After playing for several hours though I can feel it in my wrist. I'm just curious to what other X55 users preferences are for spring resistance and what you have settled on as your favorite. The more input from you all the better!

I've been using the stock spring, but I'm thinking about changing it out for less resistance. Can we do the same with the twist resistance??

Only option I am aware of for the twist is to pull the handle apart and lubricate the mechanism. When I did it, it didnt look like it was possible to easily remove the spring inside since its part of the mechanism and I couldnt see how to pull that apart.

Hmmm, not sure I wanna do a disassembly while it's still perfectly functional. Thanks for the info!

No worries, I know what you mean. I was kinda forced to do it in the first week I got mine since it started to squeak!!

Anyways, its not hard to do. If you follow my sig link, it should point you to my Steam Guide for my X55 profile. In there is a video link to show how it is done. Basically its about 5 screws and just some dry lubricant you will need. :)

I checked out your sig, so much information! For some reason it's always a surprise seeing other CMDR's keybindings. It's kind of like a little window into the way they play and the priorities they place on certain systems or functions. Mine are very basic in comparison!

After the base plate kept getting stuck leaving the joystick to flop around, I took it apart, lubricated it with silicon grease and replaced the softest spring with the hardest one. I used to prefer the soft spring for when I was flying smaller crafts, but am now in something larger that a resistant joystick seems to fit better.

:D S

I prefer the hard spring for my joystick. It has a firmer more positive feel. i did try playing with a softer sprung joystick but it was a bit floppy for my liking.

This thread is so wrong.

Stock spring - which I think is the hardest one. Couldn't be doing with a floppy stick, way too imprecise.

iirc - unless its changed - the stock one is the middle one, so you can go a bit firmer if you like.

my main issue with the X55 on 1st getting was the stiffness of the throttle. thankfully she has worn in now and is nice and loose, I find it far more responsive now.

a stick not without its issues, but when working well it is fantastic imo.

different strokes tho, I love that saitek gave us the choice and the option to change at will (I am the 1st to slag off their build quality so feel I should praise when they get summat right)

I must admit when playing FSX i would prefer a firmer stick, but i cant be bothered to swap it out so make do.
