dont buy the X55, buy the X52 PRO. the throttle on the X55 and X56 will end up having internal wiring issues.
Speaking as someone that has had multiple issues with these HOTAS systems I will respectfully disagree with you regarding the X56 throttle and I do emphasis the word throttle.
On the X55 you CANNOT deny the laws of physics Jim and MOST definitely the wires on the throttle of the X55 will eventually break. Yup, I accept some members talk about how long they have have their X55 and I for one believe them, but they cannot defy simple physic and if you keep bending a piece of metal, it will eventually break. It will not be an exact science, it might take 5000 movements, it might take 7000, but those wires will break just because of both the material and the design. See my previous posts and images.
The X56 throttle has so far not suffered from this issue, unless folks know different, BUT.... The internal return spring for the joystick rudder is now the achilles heel of this excellent HOTAS system. The springis there to self centre the joystick. It is not something we can overstress as the rudder twist can only turn a specific amount before coming up against a mechanical stop. The spring simply aids the self centring capability but this spring is possibly made of an inferior materiland the right-angle bend is its weak point and this spring is prone to break.
If the rudder action feels loose and will not self centre.... It is this spring that has broke. NOT the users fault, nothing we do willoverstress that part,it is purely down to that spring.
Regarding European warranty. This is from the date of purchase of the original item. IF, the purchased product fails in the last year of warranty, then as far as I am led to believe, the new replacement item is only covered for the remaining period? Feel free to check that out and hopefully I am wrong but do not be disappointed if what I say is correct.
