It's sad, but maybe she HAD to die to kill her arc in the ongoing story, if she lived, then Drew would have to keep her alive ingame, and ED may not want to tread that path, so her dying may be a bad thing in one sense, but it takes a lot of strain off Drew and ED.
Think of ObiWan in the Star Wars saga, it was the right moment for him to go, and the saga continued without him...maybe Salome' is the ED "ObiWan".
If it wasn't for a mass of Disconnections/crashes and instancing issues this Event could have been far more fairer to the community even if it has succeeded or not.
as for Harry potter, it was more Gaming the game than blazing a trail... couldn't care that much anyway as these events will always be marred by technical issues or the lowest denominators in the community.
Fun to watch it happen all the same.

I mean it's quite understandable if the people tasked with this failed, because clearly he's very capable. As for SDC, who would have thought it? I congratulate them for seeing through all the from the Salome defenders and smoking her and the event.
