Update Scheduled downtime and Maintenance - 17/06/2020

I haven't done any personal testing with the SSD mining yet, but given the fact that I could get up to 60t from one rock via SSD previously, 25% doesn't sound too bad...in theory. I'll go do some testing myself later on and see what my results are.

Also, I'm confused about this. Why are they focusing so hard on LTDS...and nothing else? They're even leaving the hotspot mechanic for other minerals/gems/rocks alone with no changes at all, but they're nerfing it for LTDs along with yield output. Are they making this less effective for the sake of making it less effective, or is there some idea of "balance" involved that I'm not seeing here?

I know, always seems like nerf for nerf sake.... why not make other methods "sexy" and then we wouldn't be so fussed. Combat for example.

ANYTHING, really.
AX Combat needs a massive payout boost, by about 2-300%.
Combat doesn't pay at all.
Smuggling/black market pays even worse.
Passengers are somewhat OK.
Exploration I can't judge.

It's mining, or Robigo passenger runs really.
Mining pays way too much in comparison to the other activities. Don't get me wrong, i do enjoy the large numbers I can make from mining myself.
But since not everyone is enjoying mining, things would need to be balanced more.

Also Void Opals needs a credit buff to 2m/t, as do some of the other gems, or at least increase their demand.
Why would one mine for Benitoite or Grandidierite, if they can make twice as much mining LTDs.

It should be made more appealing to mine other stuff than JUST LTDs.
In its current state, all the other gems and metals have no real reason to be there, other than a line filler. Sure we have what, 300 commodities? And how many of those are we ACTUALLY trading in?
Are you really hauling 700t of water for a 300cr/t profit?
When you could be lugging gold for 2000t/profit?
Or slaves for 5000t/profit?
Don't quote me on the numbers, but you get the idea.

The 25% is just for the drops. They have nerfed how many roids can you find, and that's the one that hurts. Once you found a decent roid, the drop from it is ok. Before the patch you could find the good roids too easy. No you can go about 5-10 minutes until you find one.

If you don't like grinding, you can do something else. No one is forcing you to grind.
Except by virtue of haters such as your BH company, grinding has become an integral part of this game. I purchased a videogame to wind down on weekends or nights after work, not to fly aimlessly for hours before doing something because of a bunch of individuals who have all the time in the world and no lives to do this.

Are we back down? when trying to log in to either Elite Dangerous : Horizons or the base Elite Dangerous .

It's like they need to elevate the figures etc, have commodities that cost 4m a ton and sell for 6m, so you have to have lots of cash to buy in the first place

The BGS manipulation would have been good for some as it seemed to weight a lot towards the controlling faction but this will have no doubt squeezed a lot of factions into retreat so there will be some losers in this.

We were perhaps a bit unlucky as our expansion which was pending before the fleet carrier update ended up being a waste of time because we ended up somewhere we didn't want to be. There's probably not much that can be done to mitigate the secondary damage effects but I guess we'll all learn from it. :)

Hi,

Is it possible to share the commandment of Fleet carriers with other players on the FC, like a second grade lieutenant ? When does it come ? In which update ?

A bit like in Star Trek series, game or films if u want(not Harry Potter), many players can think that 'll make sense to share the tasks of the FC such as traveling through the galaxy (u can exclude modules management), so players can also have a break and enjoy other activities in or out the game.

I don't believe it s not complicated to set that in game, if this game is a COOP game, less focus on free to play/nolife style as other products.

Thank you

Behave, we can't even get the virtual cargo manager to talk to the virtual tritium depot manager so they can transfer fuel directly from one to the other!

My FC is now in kit form looks like the landing decks have come adrift of the super structure, anyone have the Brewer Corps. Phone no handy?

Anyone got a link to this in issue tracker so I can add.... Searching myself but there are hundreds of reports and I'm on a phone.

Found a Beta ref but it's not accepting new updates

Edit... Given up looking it's too painful.

I just jumped my FC to a system with me aboard, and when the jump completed I was just plonked out in space in my ship with my FC nowhere to be seen! The system map didn't show it, the nav panel didn't show it, but FC management insisted it was there! Had to completely quit out and relaunch for it to sort itself. Must admit it was a bit of a "Brown Alert" moment!

Yeah... Right now, ED seems to have serious 'status refresh' issues almost everywhere (UI, maps,panels,...).
