I made most of my cheese from Robigo passenger missions lol
I've never been there either 🤣 But understand it is profitable in the extreme! Most of my passenger stuff has been shuttling tourists 1 jump to the Tourist beacons in Colonia and back. A Beluga load can be reasonably profitable :) (another activity I can do for about 45 minutes before I've had enough!)

My main could have had a FC if I hadn't spent nearly 2 billion shipping my fleet to Colonia, then dropping back to the bubble to re-build a fleet for the times I drop back :) It won't be too long before "Interstellar Vermin" launches though (y)

.and y'all wonder why the community is dying. This, this crap right freaking here.

The community is dying? Who knew. You might want to go check the Steam stats one of these days.

But I get it. You want a fleet carrier and you want it now. Please, FDev, issue an in-game check for 100,000,000,000 credits on every new purchase of the game so they can have their big boats without the dreaded grind.

The rest of us can always watch them slam their brand new 'Condas into the decks of their equally brand new carriers over and over again while trying to dock if we get bored. ;)

That population came back because of FC and the ability to get them via mining pretty much. You sound like a salty gatekeeper.

Funny, I was under the impression that there was already a community here before the FC launch, but maybe I was imagining it.

Anyhoo, I'm not in the least bit salty. Occasionally sarcastic, yes, but not salty.

But I actually mean it. Heck, throw a free fleet carrier in there as well so nobody has to "grind" their way to a system that sells it in their initial Sidey. Wouldn't want to inconvenience anybody in any way. Seriously, it doesn't change the way I play the game. Besides, there wouldn't really be much sense in me "keeping" a gate that I'm on the outside of, would there? Bonus of my plan is that there wouldn't be 20 threads a day cluttering up the forums about how it's impossible to make credits in game since max income got "nerfed" to a max of 250 million/hour.

While there was a "community" here before there was large influx of new and return players because of FC. Also the extreme sale of ED probably helped. 250 per hour is reasonable, I would be fine with combat, trading, and other stuff being equivalent to that. A game should not be a second job. Should not take years to get certain things in it to be playable. There is already enough grind with engineers if you want to be competitive in PVP or even elite pve.

That is, of course, if one's priority is to get an FC asap, which is OK. It isn't mine, but that doesn't mean that it's the "wrong" priority, just means it's not mine and I'm certainly not the Keeper of Holy Wisdom. We agree on all of that. I may not understand prioritizing a big shiny carrier over everything else you can do, but that just means I don't understand it, nothing more.

Again, just hand out fleet carriers instead of Sidewinders on purchase of the game for those who want one, problem solved. Everybody gets what they want and we all don't have to bicker in the forums endlessly about which playstyle is "better." :)

So... this is my nameplate in the dark:

What you can't see, is the name of the carrier.
Contrary to the brightly illuminated imperial STAIN on my hull which I still can't remove.
I appreciate the changes coming with this patch a lot, but since you addressed a nameplate issue, couldn't you just kill this off as well?
