Hmm. The "surprise announcement was made by Zack Snyder, who directed the most recent Superman film Man of Steel" after fans noticed ages ago that a communications satellite in the film had "Wayne Enterprises" stamped on it.

I tell you now though, it's got some way to beat Lego Batman 2. :D

But if I were writing the episode's scene post-regeneration, here's how I'd do it:

CLARA
Oh...

THE DOCTOR
Where's the mirror?

CLARA
Novel...

The Doctor scrabbles for a mirror under the TARDIS console, finds a small compact, opens it and looks.

CLARA
So you can do that?

THE DOCTOR
(surprised)
Oh wow-

CLARA
Did you know you could do that?

THE DOCTOR
(tugging fingers through her spikey red hair)
Ginger! I'm ginger! Yes!

CLARA
And a girl.

THE DOCTOR
(distracted)
What? Oh yes... and ginger! At last!​

I'm still in two minds if I'm going to watch the Doctor Who reveal.

Part of me likes the surprise of not knowing until it happens. So why are they breaking with what I see as tradition?

On the other hand since they are breaking tradition does it mean its a BIG announcement/change?

Hmm... I guess one half of me will watch and the other part will sit there closed eyes and saying 'la la la' so as not to hear :)

I'd rather not know too but I'm also sure I won't be able to avoid finding out before the episodes airs. So we're stuffed :D

However, given that the demographic of this forum is more mature than kids I would have expected some consideration for people who didn't know & don't want to know but prefer to wait to find out.

You genuinely believe that someone will be able to avoid finding out between now and Christmas? It has already been mentioned on just about every news program in the country so I don't think I will bother with a spoiler tag.
By the way I object to being referred to as a jerk.

Yes I do - avoid the media for a few days whilst the hype dies down then it will be business as usual. Also, being in teh UAE I don't get to see much UK TV so I didn't know - thanks to you I do now :rolleyes:

Not everyone lives in the UK, some people will be avoiding the news and main media sites, but it's OK .. you have chosen to remain inconsiderate - you carry on - All that remains to be said is thanks a lot :rolleyes:

Does it really matter who plays the part so much that people would want to be left in the dark until the show airs?

Darn, I really should watch an episode of this show one day to find out what this fuss is about...
