Piracy being broken like this for so long (task killing and menu logging, bugs like the cargo bug among others that seem to take forever to get fixed, other professions being buffed yet piracy getting no help, etc.) is what caused alot more people to switch from piracy to just KoS. Piracy has been broken almost the entire time this game has been out.
Whenever griefing happens, people immediately begin to complain about SDC and CODE, even though CODE has all but disappeared. Some people apparently have trouble letting go.
I, for one, enjoy their antics immensely. Though it's probably because I've never been on the receiving end of one their operations.
The Code would come back, but piracy is still broken, so there isn't much for us to do .-.
Clearly, they were forced into KoS. I feel their pain.Piracy being broken like this for so long...is what caused alot more people to switch from piracy to just KoS.
Other than scouring the forums and chucking in the background?![]()
Terrorism is not nice, cool and trendy
This is an odd one. Never heard about this. I tried to find a report in the bug forum as I'm curious, but found nothing. Has it been reported? Is this the case with both abandon and jettison?
That sounds like you are playing in beta? And as I just found out over the weekend, that PvP Piracy is basically impossible at the moment. Only just discovered that if a CMDR jettisons cargo, and then flies off, as you'd expect them to, you (the pirate) cannot collect their cargo.
Supposedly it's been like this for months (maybe someone can confirm how long)? And FD have felt it's OK to leave it as such for all that time?
I actually flew all the way our to Maia to PvP pirate for the first time in a while, only to discover it was a complete waste of time due to this bug. Sort of a sad reflection on Piracy and PvP really (2 yrs into the game)![]()
"The message"2: The amount of players we killed is irrelevant. It's all about the message, clearly there's a reason why we are the most prominent featured group in the elite community. Maybe if you believe your group should be featured on news outlets you should work a bit more on your own propaganda, image and what you do/bring to this community.
Here, I'll sum it up for you:2: The amount of players we killed is irrelevant. Someone made a comment on the kotaku Article that I would like to repeat here:

This, as I wrote myself, very......very frustrating. That would have been me
It bugs the crap out of me that with all the cool things our community does, it takes a group of people "protesting" something that FD had already decided to change anyway to get someone to pay attention to Elite's player base. The Fuel Rats alone are a kind of community support that I have never seen in any other game, let alone all the other player groups and projects that make this community so amazing. All the commanders out at Colonia have had a bigger impact on the dev's plans for the game than SDC can ever pretend to have, and is one of the coolest emergent gameplay events I have ever witnessed, but nope. A group of PVPers claiming to have achieved something they had nothing to do with gets the first mainstream attention I've seen Elite get in probably a year.
Well I'll give SDC that. Their best feature is that they make me miss The Code. The Code would come back, but piracy is still broken, so there isn't much for us to do .-.
1: 2.1 beta testing forum is archived (not visible), if i'm not wrong.

3: Two last thing's, piracy is dead. There's been no updates or attempts on frontiers end to fix it despite long feedback and internal discussions. It's sad and dumb to think there's no place for piracy in this universe.
Heat, should have been fixed in the weeks following 2.1. I understand it wasn't a major global problematic gameplay wise but it was game breaking for the pvp community. Frontier is slow with communication (granted they improved in the last month), they are still bad at balancing ideas... it might explain why it takes 3-4 months to fix the most simple thing's like heat.
I think we need Frontiers to open the testing server more often to test out ideas and suggestions from the community. That would benefit everybody and create a more pro-active community to find quicker long term solutions.
My 2 cents
Assuming that wasn't sarcasm... yes, indeed, there are many people in open.
