Searching for a specific HUD color set (purple/gold, see picture)

Hi!

Somewhere (cannot remember where) I found a screenshot of someone's HUD color and it looks stunning. Unfortunately there was no color code written down. I tried to replicate the setting but I just can't get anywhere near to it. According to the intense colors I assume it works with extended color range, maybe even negative numbers.
I hope you guys maybe know it or have it by your own or are simply pros with the color editor and can tell me which RGB values I need to set to get this awesome HUD.

Thank you in advance!

I must admit, that's rather striking.
.
More importantly: that one might actually work. I've seen a lot of HUD changes, which looked beautiful but when then watching the radar in combat, it was a mess, as colors were too hard to sort out in a hurry. This one might be useable after a short adjustment period.
.

Yes, I've been there but just can't replicate the above. That's why I called out for the "pros with the color editor" [cool]

I was able to make something kind of close to it, but I'm not sure how it looks in game.

This is as close as I could get it without doing a lot of trial and error popping in and out of the game. You'll have to tweak it from here.

Bottom row of sliders has dominant control over the purple, I.E. shield rings, the top two rows for adjusting the gold and contrast between different objects on the radar.

Don't forget to play with the brightness in the right panel In-game. A lot of configurations look like garbage at the default setting but come to life after the HUD brightness is adjusted.

I've always wondered why changing HUD color isn't in the options menu. Seems like something that would be easy enough to do. I'd like to just change the orange and nothing else, that's why I never do these custom HUD modification things.

Because FDev decided the players were getting along well enough by editing the config file so they didn't need to bother.

Their words. Not exactly their words, but their words.

Config files are fine and all, but considering this game has been on Xbox for some time now and is coming to PS4 relatively soon; you'd think they'd add it to the options by now for the console players to add a bit more personality to the game. Hell, even if they literally just copied how http://arkku.com/elite/hud_editor/#theme_0.13_0.08_-0.12_0.91_0.23_0.53_-0.11_-0.2_0.22 works and put it into the menu it'd be a vast improvement.

But Orange tho......

Okay, I'll give it to them: that's a well-tweaked HUD.

Props to whoever works out the CMDR and gets the code off 'em or works it out well enough; I dabbled in the editing briefly but had trouble creating that kind of purple.

Editor isn't going to show that kind of purple. If my guess is right you're going to need a dark purple and the gold should look something like *Mud™, then you'll have to turn up the brightness in-game.

I'm guessing part of it might be because it's possible to come up with HUD color combinations that aren't really functional. If you're editing a config file, you know what you're getting yourself into. If it's presented as part of the options screen as-is, you'd get a bunch of complaints like "omg i changed my hud in the options and shot a friendly by mistake why is it even an option to use that color." They'd have to go through and filter out combinations that didn't work well.

That's why I'll never use the current option. I ONLY want to change the orange, and that's something that only FDev can make happen. If they can rewrite the galaxy to make half the bodies in it landable, making the HUD color a changeable option should take them an afternoon.

Yeah I played around a tad in-game but the process is obviously more laborious like that.

I have one I quite like which again, you couldn't replicate in the HUD editor, but....dat purple.

I disagree. You can completely remap all controls and leave key things, such as every movement control, blank if you want. I could make a control config on console that only lets me boost and shoot. That's not FD's fault for letting me do that; it's mine for doing it lol

I'd think the same thing applies here.
