Seems Elite Dangerous will be continued!

AoS:RoR is available at other outlets than Steam, but it doesn't bode well that Frontier's latest release on Steam has less people playing it than either F1 Manager 23 or ED.
Tru dat, and clearly they (FDEV) expected more sales than they achieved. Which is a completely different statement to "most people that wanted to buy the game, didn't" :)

I don't think that English dictionary would agree with your definition of "most people", but keep going, keep going.
Ok most people that would be interested in a new RTS game. Currently there are about 14000 people playing Age of Empires definitive edition.. there are currently about 19000 playing Hearts of Iron...

Now tell me how 160 currently playing is not the majority of RTS players shunning Frontier's latest offering?

Its a niche game, its Warhammer and as an avid Warhammer fan i can tell you its very popular among my gaming group, Its firstly Warhammer and not just another RTS trying to be Warhammer.
But anyway, this is the ED Forum afterall.

Maybe they are not into Warhammer? HOI is not even an RTS game. AOE is one of the most popular titles in this genre.

Granted Warhammer is a massive IP as a whole - but let's be honest, AOS is a massive niche within that IP, because 40k takes all.

I am not saying by any means the release was a success. FDEV admitted it themselves. The numbers are pretty low. But your claims have no factual confirmation, it's just what you think based on some looseless speculation and assumption that you know how many people should be interested in that game. Which you don't really know, and yet you're presenting it like it was an undeniable fact.

Which it's not. There may be gazillion of reasons why people didn't buy the game just yet.

Its a niche game
Exactly.. it's niche, it's not for everyone. In other words.. most people don't want to buy it. But even amongst the RTS genre only a very brave person would say it's been successful. Not even frontier have said that!

My factual information is from Fdev themselves and the sample size of players on the worlds best known gaming platform. I'm sorry to inform you but it is a fact that most people who are into RTS games did NOT buy this game. I'm sorry, but that is reality.

Wow, Rome II and Medieval II still in the top ten after all this time. Now that's impressive!

Of course they're not real games, you can play them on macOS (and I have) ;)

FWIW, I think it looks really nice! Since I'm not into that type of game, it's highly unlikely I'll buy it unless I'm bored and it's on a deep discount..

And honestly as far as I know, most people can't afford to buy a computer or a game, they have to try prioritize finding money for food.

Meanwhile, plays the game without trying to find a way to see how it will inevitably end at some point, or how the next thing to come will be more asset reuse and setting up maintenance mode, at every turn

Would still like to know if that interim update is or isn’t dropping for Elite this month. Unless they want to hold a surprise that it brings really closely.
