Sell Krait MK II and upgrade to Anaconda?

So I’ve scrapped up enough credits that I could get into an Anaconda right now IF I sell my Krait MK II, I like my Krait but I’ve been aiming at the Anaconda all along, has anyone made this switch? We’re you happy with it?

Or should I really just keep grinding and keep both?

Your going to find each day you might want to do something different. So if you can keep grinding you can get an Anaconda and you have both ships. The other thing to factor in do you have any engineered modules on the Krait?

Note on Exploration the view is what counts so Krait might have a better view than an Anaconda.

I’ll have enough for a rebuy, I’ll just need to grind out all the upgrades and of course engineering the FSD

Keep grinding (or instead, just play the game naturally, less chance of burnout and eventual disappointment when you get the Annie) and keep the Krait, it's one if not the best ships in E: D imo.

I found that once the initial novelty of commanding a big ship wore off (pretty quickly actually), I went back to smaller ships which are more fun and less costly in case something goes wrong.

The conda is a good ship but since I got my Corvette it's sort of redundant for me, as I use my DBX/Phantom for exploration, and my Python for trade (the Conda can't land at outposts). Tried to like it but bought and sold it perhaps three times? Also find it one of the ugliest ships in the game but that's personal taste.

Also make sure you have enough spare cash to A rate it and a few rebuys in credits left.

Edit - to give a ballpark figure, I wouldn't even look at buying a conda until you have around 250-300m in credits, especially if you plan to fly in Open.

I’ve just managed to do the level 1 FSD Farseer upgrade, I think I read that the modules work between Anaconda - Python- Krait ? Interchangeable?

Tell us what type of exploration you like to do? For me, I tend to land on planet and such and the Anaconda is not the easiest to land on rough planets. It can be done but it takes practice. Smaller ships it easier to do. But you run out of module space. So You would not have the same build as I do on my Anaconda.

Well I guess since it’s really all ObsidianAnts fault that I’m even playing this grindfest lol I guess you could say I kind of practice ObsidianAnt style exploration.... that is to say I head out into dark and get distracted lol

He does have some good ideas. But tell us what you want as an explorer. You want the view or do you want to play on the planets. Do you want to farm Materials on Astroids?

As long as you keep in mind that the happiness success rate for people once they get to an anaconda is far from 100%.. and once you're there you're going to have to find something else to do.

If you want something big and like exploration and trading id probably get a beluga instead now that its been unnerfed.

What are you grinding to get money? Getting the credits pillar right is important for alot of your journey. Outfit a type-7 for robigo until you can get an anaconda / beluga.. then just do it there. its close to 20 million a run which means you can jump back there and get credits whenever you need them without too much issue. Credits are really kinda pointless you just go back and get more when you need them (worrying that other activities pay is unnecessary stress).

massive lightning strikes and roaring thunder rolls down the mountainside - as the sky clears, a dapper yet clearly totally insane poster strides forth

REPENT, CHILD. THE ANACONDA IS YOUR DOOM.

But no, seriously, don't be in a rush to score one. It's a lot of ship if you're new to the game. If you ask me, skip the Krait and the Anaconda and go for a Krait Phantom. It can explore, trade, mine, and fight pretty good too. Plus you'll feel like Han Solo and probably get laid just as much.

Cheers!

If it's exploration you're after, the Krait Phantom or Asp Explorer might be a better bet. The Anaconda will let you do anything, but it's not the best with manouvering in supercruise and it's a tricky beast when you're landing on high g worlds (examples are probably on youtube thanks to DW2).

My first explorer build ship was an Imperial Courier and I unlocked Palin with that (That was a great little canyon runner, if a bit toasty). I wouldn't get too sucked into thinking that huge jump range is the only thing to consider.

Edit: Phisto Sobanii types faster than me.

Like others have said, don't sell your current ship to buy another ship. Even if you're only interested in one aspect of this game such as exploration, you may find that you don't like the Annie at all, or better yet, you may just not want to fly it all the time. I have 17 ships in my fleet, I've flown 8 of them this week, while the last 48 hours has been spent flying my new Challenger. Having options is better than being pinned in one ship. Variety is the spice of life.
