Frankly, in terms of Codex I expected no less than
  • fixed dozens of previously unscannable Objects, all Objects qualifying for Codex entry should now work as intended
  • fixed amount of discovered Objects not indicating correctly in the Codex Overview
  • fixed erroneous Terraformable Ammonia Worlds showing in Codex
  • added/activated Rumors for Codex (need to be triggered by respective Player discoveries before showing for a Sector)
The Patchnotes read like even the biggest Codex showstoppers haven't been touched upon - notably which are negatively or very negatively affecting it since V3.0 now (!)

Looks a tad weak so far IMHO.

When will we hear a soft German female cockpit voice?
When will there be a holo-me function for our flight personnel?

Is this seriously the only bug fixes that have been put into this patch? Utterly disgraceful tbh. No fix for crashes in missions when using the left MFD? Countdown marker for jumps when it reaches 1 bug? NPC's not appearing in some missions? Blah blah blah blah blah. Someone needs to pull their collective finger out

Elite: Safe (formerly known as Elite: Dangerous)

Dev's, sorry, know you have worked hard on the changes but really not a lot happening for vet players, just soft pillows and cosmetics. It's time to start thinking about proper "hard mode" where the hand holding things can be turned off. Also, ATM the AI is really Christmas decoration. The AI and damage levels should be ramped (back) up now that new players have a safe haven to learn the ropes.

You must be confused, this isn't Truck Simulator 3304.
This is Elite: Dangerous.
every time i read that misconception... it's like that guy in scanners.

that said..... I do agree that the game has imo lost its way a bit and allowed players to over level their ships so much that they are to all intents and purposes invincible... and that aint great.
of course engineering to the max is a choice, but for those who enjoy it, it is a shame it takes any challenge out of the game

I think the AI could be improved somewhat on the high level ships (assuming the devs are able without the game cheating) however i dont think the answer is to make the npc ships shield tank bullet sponges with OP weapons... but would rather they dialed back the engineering on our ships instead. (the idea that i have a missiion to kill 30 ships and each one is a 15min slogathon full of bullet sponges sounds dull as heck to me)

A rated is meant to be very good.
E rated is meant to be "servicable"
Engineering should be the cherry on the top giving you that little 5-10% more , that tiny thing which gives you an edge....

imo if FD got our ships somewhat right and then sat on that a bit to see where we sat that would help.

If we had the following, would be great:
  1. Blocking should just block chat and not impact instancing
  2. Power Play numbers for the powers only impacted by actions in Open. Still allow merits to be earned in Solo/PG that influence the players rank and nothing else (Maybe bonus for doing in open)
  3. BGS factions only impacted by actions in Open. Still allow players to gain rep for actions in Solo/PG (Maybe bonus for doing in open)

Meant damage AI can inflict. Engineering is then fine.

i still disagree because it basically means none engineered ships would be worthless. I always hoped ED would try to stay in the realms of hard science fiction, to me engineers as they are now are so powerful they are more like enchantments in a fantasy game rather than any (pseudo) science or engineering reasons for the upgrades.

David Braben sold Engineers as a parallel to The Huey helicopter in Vietnam....... However imo they have not turned out like that.

I sure hope Frontier didnt do something dumb like remove the ability to purchase ARX thru the Steam wallet....... after spending over 800$ on in game items thru steam, if thats gone, i wont be buying anymore
