Serious Question: Are you (Fdev) only going to listen to players who defend every action you do, or actually take suggestions?

It's not about listening to or ignoring anyone. Frontier knows exactly what they are doing here. You can tell by the way that they just HAPPENED to need mining before this all was announced.

The FCs are not content for the players. It's a guaranteed grind for FDev which allows them to artificially retain players and keep them busy until the next major update. It's their way of forcing players to stay. They put it JUST within reach of 25% of players so they can swindle them out of their game time to pump up their own numbers. It was never about content for the players. It was always about them putting a new grind into the game to keep people grinding.

FDev doesn't care that the FCs are out of reach of the vast majority of the playerbase. The fact they refuse to address how upset players are with the state of things is proof of that.

I think the supply and demand change was more likely put in place to curtail bulk selling gold rushes when fleet carriers arrive with their cargo storage option

I'm not really sure what you're even saying here. You are saying that all online games are deliberately conning their players into doing things they don't enjoy (which was what I was challenging)?

Or could it be that developers are simply responding to the activities that humans actually participate in, and introducing features/requirements based on that?

Again, if a player is stupid enough to continue playing a game that they don't enjoy, there is zero blame on the developer.
Frontier is not "conning" anyone. If you don't have a carrier, you lose nothing.

No, never getting a carrier is not a "loss", as you cannot lose what you never had.

No gameplay is being removed. In fact even for players who won't be owning carriers, like me, we will still have new facilities to interact with in the form of other player's carriers.

You can still fly your regular ships as ever, and I suspect this might be a dip in the water for real player trading.

It's the same in FFXIV. In fact, in the game, the houses, which are basically the same thing, are literally limited to a select few players, as the building space is finite. And you can have your house bulldozed by the devs' themselves if you fail to maintain upkeep. This mechanic has been paused for the pandemic but it will return when Square Enix is able to resume normal work conditions. It is also very expensive to run a house there. Most players will never be able to afford it.

So the fact that every player has the same opportunity to get one... Well, it's much "fairer" already. That does not mean everyone will get one though. That is not what "fair" means in gameplay.

The only complaint I have is that the carriers will be discounted for qualifying players, but aside from that it's all good.

No, I don't expect the Founder's discount to go anywhere.

There's nothing there I disagree with. :)

Well, except that it doesn't personally bother me if a few people get a discount. They get a discount on everything anyway, and always have.

Considering everything going on right now, your livid about this? To the point where you have to use CAPS, bolds text, underlines.. Really?
