I've been out near the near end of the Pill throughout Beta 2. Sigma Bootis, Belobog, Devi etc. The populated systems there don't have nav beacons, as far as I can see. Known issue?
 
What you explained is quite common to me, nothing that came with this update.

Solo play almost always works, online mode has a good chance for endless spinning. The chance for a spinning is lower going from solo to online, but not gone.

If the game crashes, bounty and missions usualy disappear, normaly resulting in your cargo status being changed to stolen.

Cant count how many times that happend to me already :(

For the first time since Alpha I haven't been able to get into the game. I either get the orange spinning ship, or the "Server 99999999999 [unconnected]" message.

*sigh*....never mind eh?
 
Spinning Sidewinder of wait

Hi, I had trouble getting in earlier in the week, would not get past the spinning Sidewinder for 2 days, in the end I restarted my modem, worked straight away after that.
There was nothing else wrong with my Internet connection at the time.

Worth a try.

bb problems

Hi: i having problems with doing muti. missions to the same destination. namely once i get to the destination and log into the bb it doesent list the missions for that location, so i go to the map page to see if the missions are still listed and there gone (no missions listed). so i grab a (1) mission back to where i came from and when i get back my mission page is listing the missions i should have been able to cashin on. also the cargo will still be listed in my cargo bay. but i can't access them on my mission page.
the first two runs i did after updating to 2.06 seemed to work fine then it just all went to heck.
Anybody else have this problem?
 
I don't know if this is related to your server update, but all of a sudden, I'm getting blurring and ghosting on my DK2. I've never had it before and I haven't changed any settings on my pc or in game. It was fine just last night.

Yes, just had it tonight between Dahan and Aulis. Thought I was losing my mind a bit :eek:
 
getting quite a few more disconnects coming out of hyperspace and the odd occasion I am stuck coming out of supercruis. Long time since I had the supercruise issue.

- Game runs fine now.

Sorry, jumped the gun, all connectivity issues must have been local network/ISP related. Been on for last 2 hours without a problem at all, cept for the usual known issues ie; stutters etc.

+1 rep to you! I was getting the spinner all today, read this and thought "There's no way that will work, but hey, I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms"

whaddya know, it worked and I'm back in-game! yeehaw!
 
I've been so busy with work, I haven't been able to play-test for a few weeks.

Work's done, so with 2.06 and the 10/17 server-side update:
-Started up fine, logged right into Open mode with a 1-2 second spinning sidewinder.
-Bulletin Board in CE Bootis/Mosely Park reports jobs available.
-Sell All Data in Universal Cartographics still does not work.
-Hyperspace to Arcturus went smooth, supercruised out and exited sc quickly at Fort Harrison.
-Upon exiting sc, it told me my shields were down, but they're not.
-Received two "Landing Gear Deployed" messages.
-Bulletin Board came right up and I turned in my mission without issue.
-Accpeted and took 2 missions back to CE Bootis/Mosely Park.
-Got stuck in hyperspace. Or it was the LSD. (Crash report sent)
-Came back in game quickly after CTRL-ALT-DEL outside Fort Harrison. Still had missions etc. 5 minutes had ticked off my mission time. OMG, 11 minutes left!
-Hyperspaced & supercruised, no problem. Supercruise exit took about 5 seconds longer than normal.
-Turned in missions & got paid.

Quibbles & Things:
1) Moseley Park has this strange square glitch over part of it's HUD menu that flashes and fluctuates between hollow, partially filled-in, and filled in. It's located so a corner is over the station frontal image, another corner over the "P" in Park, and the bottom 20% is over the seconds in the time/date line. Don't know if this is intentional or not.

2) Supercruise speed and winding up going faster than allowed is really annoying. It's always been there, but with beta, it's gotten worse. So here's what I don't understand.... we have two gauges for speed. The thin, rightmost one is the allowable top speed. The wider, leftmost one is your current speed. It seems that as I approach closer to my supercruise target, the top speed decreases, but doesn't force the current speed down accordingly. Why not drop a simple IF-THEN statement that checks to make sure Current Speed is not greater than Top Speed, and if it is, to gear it down to Top Speed quickly? Then we won't go flying past our destinations all the time, or trying other tricks to avoid the issue.
And yes, I keep my speed in the lower part of the blue. It does not help 75% of the time.

EDIT: Well, while I was browsing the forum and sitting docked in the station, I had the station disappear on me after about 7-8 minutes of just sitting there.

Prior to server update, 2.06 was near perfect for me. Occasional CTD etc., but could play for hours without a hitch.

Now, after the server update:

- Game is very slow to launch from launcher.
- Once launched, unconnected most of the time. Start is red.
- If connected, selecting Open Play or Solo gets me the perpetual spinning Sidewinder. Need to CTRLALTDEL
- On the rare occasion(s) it finally gets me in game, anything that requires server(s) connection is bog slow - BB, Carographics, Market, etc.

edit to add:

- Game freezes while exiting SC very often now, before update rarely.

In other words, Server update 2.06 sucks for me. Can't play. Not sure why as the update notes don't mention any changes to connectivity does it?

Has taken my game 5 minutes to even launch since early alpha :( I press "Play Game" and then browse the internet for a while usually. With all the crashes lately it has crushed my will to play for now. Never got a reply in the bugs forum about it. Entire system runs laggy while I wait for it to start up, so it must be doing something CPU intensive while it's taking forver. My computer is a monster beast too, so it makes no sense. Sigh.
 
I haven't noticed any bounty reports on Galnet since the update. Do they need 24 hours to gather data before creating reports, perhaps?
 
Just played for an hour. Worked still fine for me overall, but had 3-4 times a huge lag of several seconds. One times nearly smashed into the station because of that.

Bulletin Board works fine, did a few missions, no problems here with that.

Anyone else getting the endless sidewinder/cobra spinning and unable to join the game wether in solo or open play?
I haven't been able to play since 2.01 or 02 i think. Last time I tried was on 2.05.
I tried with firewall off and antivirus off.

Really want to play :D

EDIT: Clear save brought me back in the game

Last night 2.06 and server updates worked well. I got into the game in under 5 seconds. I only had one big issue and that was having to land backwards to normal orientation as my ship appeared backwards in the holo display.

I don't know why we have to land on the pad in one orientation only. If the ship fits, let me land either way. I think the spinning platform is OK but it doesn't especially make sense and now after 1,000 views I wish the platform orientation just stayed. The exhaust wash louvres don't really do anything when we point our main engines directly at the tower to take off...

Today, I have gotten the endless spinning sidey. Will try again in a bit. Could be when I am on late in the US that fewer players are connecting, making it easier?

FD have to get the instancing/server issues worked if end of November is launch.
 
Still have major problems with SuperCruise and Hyperspace when on time critical missions where you have 12-15 mins to move cargo from system to system you approach station in supercruise then press button to drop out and sit and wait,wait,wait 2 mins later crash the game with windows task manager go back into the game putting you at the star system for you to supercruise to station again with 5-7 mins left (in mission time) press the button to drop out and wait,wait,wait that's the saga I tend to get, have raised ticket on the problem and this has been going on from beta 2.3 and still waiting for that to be fixed....
