Servers again?

Soooo....... game's ded ;)

It's really not too much of a joke anymore.

Frontier have reached their limits and without finally investing in proper servers and writing a whole new netcode we certainly are doomed. I mean look at this. It's quite common now that the servers are overlaoded and the hardcap is reached. The game experience is not inconvinient, not broken, no it's blocked. The worst of all. You are unable to play the game that you paid money for.
Especially on prime times like weekends there is usually atleast one thread asking of the servers are down or overloaded and it indeed is the case. The servers that are responsible for managing the player load are incapable of holding this many players at once and probably just refuse the connection until the other processes are done. Then the client will trigger a timeout and you get the message that you can't connect to the servers as it won't respond. Not eve na log-in queue like any other basic free to play game would do. No, nothing in that matter. Just the message basically saying "Hey, sorry you can't play but servers cost money and require know-how. We are not willing to invest either. Deal with it."

Why thank you.

Always seems to happen when I'm just about to finish a passenger tour. Still, got back in, handed in mission, quit out for lunch. Looking to investigate Fortuna this Afternoon.

In my profession (hi level security IT and datacenter) i have such issues often. It happens when loadbalancers (inconclusive boxes thos things are for me) cant do their work due to an obvious misconfigurutation.

HOW TO BYPASS AND GET INTO GAME:
Read the IP address of the malfunctioning system in the left bottom corner of screen.
Open shell/cmd. type : ping <IP address of server> -t
This is to force the game to chose a quicker responding alternative server.
Restart game. Check if IP is a different one.
If yes: i am in now. Spam ping the stupid primary server thing, cause it is down completely and the misconfigured loadbalancer (which doesnt recognize that fact) in between doesnt redirect you. That way you manually enforce the game to ignore the primary and offline server the loadblancer still beleives up and running.

Srsly, the heck, go learn how to configure loadbalancers and routers correctly, or get educated personell.

Commanders, we will shortly be deploying a hotfix to Elite Dangerous in order to resolve a crash identified with the Adjudication and Matchmaking servers. This will only require a server restart, and we don't expect any significant downtime. Thank you for your understanding.

Hey Commanders, it looks like the servers had a hiccup (I'm very technical, I know!) however, the server team have let me know that everything should be up and running. If you're seeing any other issues, please quote this and let me know!
