There are stations/outposts inside asteroid fields. Just one of those glitches, there is also a very cool surface port on a moon inside a planatery ring. In fact quite a few interesting sights that have come from game glitches. Most are listed in the wonders of the Galaxy thread.

Okay I was inspired by this to check out the Civilian Installation at Ngalkin. The interior of one section is indeed quite striking...

Nicely spotted, thanks for pointing that out. Now on the list. Looks like a good one, might have to stage a "Tunnel Vision 2" race at some point! :)

Klimuk Ring in the Guaras system has a Fed Cap ship dock, complete w/ shot-up cap ship, and 2 satellites. Note: Klimuk Ring is over 200,000 LS out.
Unlike the Imp ship dock I saw some weeks ago, this one refuses to show up on contact list or object list ('tho the satellites do). something change?

In the 2.3 beta patch notes I spotted:

  • Added asteroid base type station (including air traffic controllers)
  • Added 32 asteroid bases in various deep space locations

So perhaps you had a moment of prescience?

Not sure if it was just me. But I appeared in BETA, INSIDE the Asteroid base, STARGAZER, which is in a system near MAIA. I cant remember which one right now. Ill check at lunc time.

As Maia now requires a permit to enter, I could not buy a fuel scoop to leave the area and get back to the main bubble. Having seen and been in an Asteroid base, I wanted to see a Mega-ship. Seems no one has seen one yet?
