Ship docks, CQC structures and other new in-game assets

There's another bulk carrier (definitely not moving) in PLEIADIES SECTOR IH-V C2-5

It shows up as a target in the nav panel, so easy to find ("THOMAS BULK CLASS CARGO SHIP DFX-056"). Lots of mostly worthless canisters, and not seen any materials.

There's also a thargoid in there giving it a bit of a probe. The Thargoid turns hostile if you scan it (I guess if you shoot it too!), otherwise it mostly ignores you and leaves after a bit.

Cheers.

Always worth checking the front page before posting [up]

Well other than for the fact that he says the one he mentions has no materials (which is why I was looking for one, hence the trip to Dav's Hope) and the fact that the one I asked about was (when in Wolf 485A) only two jumps away from where I was, as opposed to about 450LY away in the Pleiades - bear in mind that I'm in a Corvette that jumps 20Ly. Oh and the fact that the one I asked about is still actually shown as being in Wolf 485A on the front page. Finally, the fact that I didn't particularly want to spend my Sunday tabbing between this thread and the game, sticking systems from the list into the galmap to check how far away they were, especially since the one ship I had checked indicated that the most recently listed system on the front page might not be current anyway. So yeah, what did the Romans ever do for us? :D

Heh, always worth checking carefully and not skimming reading it!

I think you've just assumed a few things about what I was actually doing there with your crack about 'skimming the thread'. I didn't come to this thread to search for a ship at all - I remembered the one in Wolf 485A from a while ago and since I was only two jumps away from there, I just jumped there. Then when I arrived and the ship wasn't there, I googled to see was going on and got links to both the Canonn website (which wouldn't open) and this thread. Then I did a control-F search on this thread to find the entry for the specific ship I asked about, then saw that it was still shown as being in Wolf 485A anyway but with an entry that suggested it may have moved. Then I asked a specific question about it.

It's all good, I've got what I needed now.

Errr, I could be wrong but I think Factabulous' "worth checking the front page" comment was a little dig at kpmop's find in PLEIADIES SECTOR IH-V C2-5 and kpmop's "worth checking carefully and not skimming it" comment was a self-deprecating acknowlegdement of Factabuolous' comment. I don't think either were related to your post at all.

Fair enough Alec and apologies to both if I 'whooshed' myself there. Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last - see my earlier 'but I can't drive round Dav's hope in a Corvette' post for another example :D

I did actually do a few speed runs round it by the way with the intention of submitting one for the Buckyball. Even went as far as messing about with pip settings in the SRV to work out whether being able to drive flat-out with one pip to engines was more effective overall than sticking four pips to engines and risking spin-outs and overshooting, as well as working out whether it took more than five seconds to pick up the most distant material because yes, I am that cynical :D

Then I loaded up FRAPS and remembered that actually, trying to capture full screen video whilst driving at breakneck speed round a surface base isn't the wisest idea when your graphics card is a 660Ti. Surface bases and inside Ocellus stations are the only times I get any serious framerate issues, the game is very forgiving of crap hardware, but the added overhead from FRAPS just kills it. Still I had fun which is the important thing.

Megaship and installation "Pirate Cove" and "Blazin' Dynamo" I missed from the charity livestream https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/394907-Pirate-Cove

Edit: from the above comments, sorry for the controversy - when people post duplicates it's not always clear if they even know there is a summary at start (I don't assume they do know), so was just a hopefully polite fyi. And nothing to do with red :)

Cool - added to the OP (and my personal TODO list).

Couldn't find any of these referenced anywhere. All damaged by pirates/terrorists.

There's a couple more that @Inhibited was going to report, but for the record: Demeter Class (or Dionysis) vessel in Synuefai LX-R D5-28, and Aquarius class tanker WKS 559 at California Sector BA-A E6 4. Again - attacked by pirates.

Now added along with The Midas (courtesy of a pm prod by Cmdr Orange Sheets).

I think the pirates that were attacking the California Sector recently may have been attacking ships in the Synuefai LX-R d5-28 system.

Dionysus Class Agricultural Vessel FGK-342 found damaged orbiting near Synuefai LX-R d5-28 1

Already had that one in my list but I've updated its details a tad from your post. Thanks.

A few new things this week:

- "Keast & Crighton Comestibles", an agricultural installation in orbit of Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-15 8

- "AIE Anzac Honour", a Dionysus Class Agricultural Vessel in orbit of Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-15 11

- "Dove Enigma", a dockable Megaship in orbit of Colonia 3 A

Thanks guys, I'm not ignoring you, just been kinda tied up running a Buckyball Race. Normal service (and forum signature) should be restored tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience.
