Ship loadouts and increased module storage

I have G5'd almost 26 out of 36 ships.
There must be another Nusquam playing ED and registered on INARA. Anyway with no time frame mentioned it sounds like you don't find building and engineering ships a "significant annoyance". 26 fully engineered ships is a very nice large fleet of ships and I agree that building specialized ships really isn't that tough. The effort that goes into making a great ship, testing & tweeking, trying new things, is what makes it fantastic. 😀(y)

Must be because "almost" =/= "fully". (Edit it occurs to me that you might think I meant I own 36 ships, I meant out of the total available in-game and combine the eagle) Between my storage on whats on other ships I can make any ship "fully" G5'd. Which is part of my point; I do find it annoying, just because most of my ships have a lot of A rated and engineered parts doesn't mean it wasn't a hassle swapping mods over as my fleet grew or I changed loadouts. Doesn't mean that I don't want future players to have a better experience. I've reached the point where my storage is hovering at max so I am forced to engineer the same things over and over.

Effort into making a great ship doesn't mean we have to subject players to get out of the ship you're in, store it, pull another from storage, get into the cockpit, order ground crew to pull off a mod, get out of the ship, store it, get back in your original ship, order ground crew to then put that mod on. Tweaking builds could be easier. You cannot tell me you prefer having to swap to the chair on each ship when swapping mods. I'm not sure what you are arguing, "just deal with it" isn't constructive feedback to a suggestions topic, nor is "you've already done it the hard way, why does it matter now?". More module storage is a straight upgrade, and the bonus of not having a menu loop of swapping chairs just to pull off mods to swap back is a straight upgrade. Neither of these things have a single adverse effect. It's equivalent to material traders, a simple yet elegant solution to time gates.

Its not tough to purchase a bunch of ships and slap on A-ratred modules. The engineering mats are the currency for upgrading them. Be glad that ED allows you to be cheep and swap major components like hull armour, power plants, and thrusters between ships.

Initially you would only own one ship at a time. That is why the UI is so clunky for managing multiple ships. They would need to overhaul the entire UI to make it work. Can't see it happening, maybe the next version of the game if they plan it from the start.

I am replying to the persons "significant annoyance". Obviously such an idea will not be implemented in less than 12 months if ever, yet the OP has chosen a playstyle that causes "significant annoyance". Sure they can chose their own playstyle, no problem there. Choosing a playstyle that the game wasn't designed for and then complaining about it is quite illogical. Hoping & waiting for FDev to change a fundamental game design concept in the next 1-2 years to adapt to a person's playstyle doesn't make much sense.

Certainly a suggestion forum is for posting suggestions. It is also for replies. So yes, I am on the correct forum.
I don't think it's for answers. Rather, it is for objections specifically to this question. Any objections? Who and how is this proposal going to inconvenience ?

Not everyone likes to sit at a station for hours and move items you've been pestering for years.
Some people like to fly and explore.

Why am I buying a Fleet Carrier I can stockpile a lot of ships on it. But even if I buy service equipment my warehouse size will be the same as it was before I bought the Aircraft Carrier?
I have the size of the aircraft carrier hold, who forbids me to pile my modules there?

What a weird response. The fact is when they made the game, they only intended us to own one ship at a time. That they allowed us the ability to own more ships explains why the Ui is so unsuited for it. I dunno what that has to do with your rant.
This is what I do. I do not enjoy module swapping.
A wise man works with what he has.

Bad news: the amount of module space is limited.
Good news: the amount of ships you can own and store (along with the modules fitted to them) is unlimited.

I have some T10s that I bought as a stock expander. But every time I have to move these modules through the stock and it's so tedious.

Real

Really? After years of playing the game you don't have a ship that you can fly and explore in? 🤷‍♂️
There's more to the game than just research.
As correctly noted here, in the game you can fly only one ship, why spend a week of the game to get another 6th class engine that will be lying in the warehouse.
If it was deliberately designed so we could change at least the basic equipment.

For the exact same reason why I own 3 fully operational vehicles in my driveway. I don't swap out major components when I want to switch vehicle. It could be done... but its just not practical. Same thing with ED. A player can choose to be cheep and have 30 stripped ship hulls and a big inventory of parts they swap around. If that's their chosen playstyle... have fun. But there are certainly more convenient ways to play the game.

There's no need to shift the game to real life. I previously tried to do this on the forum it was explained to me that this is not correct.

And I don't quite understand YOU. What do you get out of this sentence? You don't want to use THIS, just don't use it. Why do YOU prevent others from doing it?
