Ok you're right. The pointy one is different. Looks like an Apollo

Well even David Braben has described them as cheese blocks
Yes, but beautiful cheeseblocks.
I would love to own such a cheese block in real life.
Oh yes! I wonder how long a Citroen Yaris would stand up to a Class 4 beam Laser?I would love to own such a cheese block in real life.
I like ED a lot, so I really don't want to start a war against the old Elite fans, I know there is a lot nostalgic feelings about the Cobra's and the Sidewinders.
But as a new player (for the first time playing an Elite game) I think the ship models are all a bit the same, sidewinder, cobra, anaconda, etc
Ok size is different and the specs are different, but the models are the same.
( Somewhere I read that you were flying a doorstopper, funny)I think it would be nice if there are some other shaped ships.
Will they come in the future game ?
You'll be glad your in a flying wing shaped cheeseblock if you get your engines shot out in an atmosphere!
Cobra, Sidwinder, Anaconda.... Ok size is different and the specs are different, but the models are the same.
I don't have a problem with the fundamental design. I just think they're lacking some detail for 2014/15. When I look outside my ship at the stars and planets, the sense of looking out in to space is very strong. When I look at a Sidewinder in the outfitting dock, the sense that I'm looking at a spaceship is nowhere near so strong.

I don't remember it from earlier games, but something about it rings a bell.
I think part of this is that the artists seem to have decided upon a pseudo-graphic novel style of aesthetic rather than a photo-realistic one. All the textures look as if they've been lifted off the page of an ink and wash drawing.
Yes, but beautiful cheese blocks.
