Ship Startup Sequence should be Implemented

A ship startup sequence should be implemented.
It should also be mandatory, otherwise it breaks immersion. No opt outs. I expect all the people who are in favor of delayed ship transfers to support me in this.
I took the time to write up a sample Ship Start-Up sequence that could be used or would at least be a good place to begin development of a much more complex startup sequence.

Ship Start-Up sequence for launch
1. Power on PP - skip this if you are not on a docking pad
2. Power on PD and wait for ENG and SYS capacitors to fully charge before taking off
3. Verify Life Support is at 100% - If not at 100% and not checked, random chance of failure during flight
4. Verify Weapons are at 100% - If not, Deploy and retract weapons to verify they are functional. If not checked, then random chance one or more weapons fails to deploy or retract.
5.Activate shields when SYS capacitor is full
6. Request permission to leave. Attempting to leave without permission will result in security thinking your ship is a criminal and they will open fire on you.
7. Hold up to activate maneuvering thrusters - should take a few seconds, similar to taking off from a planet surface now.
8. Gain some altitude (a few meters should be enough)
9. Apply 100% throttle to activate main thrusters and ramp them up to proper operating temperature / rpm - should take about 3 to 5 seconds.
10. Begin moving and retract landing gear at your convenience

Eh... nope. Not for me at least. I already have DCS at home. And Falcon 4.0 BMS.
I like my spaceships smart enough to deal with that themselves, thank you.

I'd be up for a basic startup sequence on initial game launch, or ship swap, but not for every launch during a play session.

Just don't make it as involved as the 'Rogue System' version. This one is really good, but very detailed and time consuming. It took me more than 3 hours of practice before I could successfully power-up, launch, re-dock and shut-down without referring to my notes at all.

Please, kid. Enough crying now. Its getting irritating.

Actually I support a light form of start up.

Turn on APU
Turn on Thrusters
Turn on Shields

However it's all in the game, you just need an option to start cold the first time you log in.
FDEV could make a auto startup sequence that do it all, just like in IL-2.

Then make it mail function if not maintained just like everything else.

Agree ^

Isn't there something similar in the game where you have to verify your controls? I think it can be set up to appear at each launch, but I could be mistaken.

It's already there in the function menu. Turn on the flight control checklist...
However I suspect this is more of a "boo-hoo, instant lost so let's suggest some really stupid time sink ideas to point out how big an idiot everyone who voted for delay is compared to me..."
Just like the outcry by the "remain" campaign after losing the Brexit vote. The whole point of democracy is that sometimes we don't get what we want. I didn't want Tony Blair, but still ended up stuck with him, and now all those who wanted instant are stuck with a delay. Can we just all please grow up and move on from this now...

Just leave it alone, DragoonKnight, that's really bad style !

Vote for close...

I thought you guys liked immersion. I am proposing more immersion. Its completely immersion breaking for your ships shields to remain on after landing while it is repairing, refueling, etc. Not to mention how silly it is for thrusters to go from completely off to full thrust in under a second.

Sorry, but somehow I see a passive agressive salty troll on the loose here.... Brace youselves!

Funny enough I actually love ke the idea, brings the phrase "spaceship simulator" back to play, however, I agree with an opinion, that its good to have a ship smart enough to do it all on its own, but a service diagnostics like that after repairs I would like.

Don't forget there should be a helmet flip animation!

There should be, but they have to give us the ability to walk around our ships first. So that can wait.

The idea is that you could skip most of it if you repaired your ship at that station - the ship mechanic did it for you. Then you are just reduced to powering up your power plant, requesting permission to leave (like you would at any sane airport), and powering up your thrusters.

You would have to go through the whole thing if your ship is badly damaged

By all means! Once we are able to walk around ships and stations I'd be happy to help with repairs, even if the actual "repair" only takes a second it will take some time to locate faults and fix them, it could actually be really fun in its own respect. But first, walking in ships please...

It's also immersion breaking when my wife keeps nagging at me because dinner is on the table. Cant she see i'm trying to land?? Wish Fdev would do something about that.

Or the immersion break when the pizza guy knocks on the door! Wth?! I mean, kudos, he's dressed for the occassion with his helmet on and all, but theres no pizza in space! Jog on, pal!
