Ship Startup Sequence should be Implemented

Thing is, you can already do this using the module panel to power down/up individual modules in the order that you think is most appropriate.

If you choose to.

I like to start FS4 with a cold dark cockpit, and tried this with elite too. It was fun for a few trips but...

The one thing that is a bit strange is that at space stations you start hot and engine running, whilst for planetary there is an 'engine start' sequence. That would do for me!

Actually, I wouldn't really mind if whenever I was supposed to leave the dock, at least after a long stay, say, longer than 10-15 minutes, the ship would first do a short power on self test.

Did you guys notice how the blast shielding rises when you launch? Well, it'd be nice if it'd actually serve a specific purpose. Say, your ship burns all thrusters at 100% power for 5 seconds, tests power usage, etc etc.

Maybe all of it automatic, not necesarrily manually, but it would be a nice touch, in my oppinion at least.

I like the way thrusters power up when you are leaving a planet without docking at a planetary base. Takes a few seconds to power them up, you have to hold thruster up, and there is a power up sound associated with that. I would really like that to happen in stations and outposts too.

A ship startup sequence should be implemented.
It should also be mandatory, otherwise it breaks immersion. No opt outs. I expect all the people who are in favor of delayed ship transfers to support me in this.
I took the time to write up a sample Ship Start-Up sequence that could be used or would at least be a good place to begin development of a much more complex startup sequence.

Ship Start-Up sequence for launch
1. Power on PP - skip this if you are not on a docking pad
2. Power on PD and wait for ENG and SYS capacitors to fully charge before taking off
3. Verify Life Support is at 100% - If not at 100% and not checked, random chance of failure during flight
4. Verify Weapons are at 100% - If not, Deploy and retract weapons to verify they are functional. If not checked, then random chance one or more weapons fails to deploy or retract.
5.Activate shields when SYS capacitor is full
6. Request permission to leave. Attempting to leave without permission will result in security thinking your ship is a criminal and they will open fire on you.
7. Hold up to activate maneuvering thrusters - should take a few seconds, similar to taking off from a planet surface now.
8. Gain some altitude (a few meters should be enough)
9. Apply 100% throttle to activate main thrusters and ramp them up to proper operating temperature / rpm - should take about 3 to 5 seconds.
10. Begin moving and retract landing gear at your convenience

I wish I thought this was a joke...

No, thank you. Not interested in another time sink to no purpose.
