Ship Startup Sequence should be Implemented

A ship startup sequence should be implemented.
It should also be mandatory, otherwise it breaks immersion. No opt outs. I expect all the people who are in favor of delayed ship transfers to support me in this.
I took the time to write up a sample Ship Start-Up sequence that could be used or would at least be a good place to begin development of a much more complex startup sequence.

Ship Start-Up sequence for launch
1. Power on PP - skip this if you are not on a docking pad
2. Power on PD and wait for ENG and SYS capacitors to fully charge before taking off
3. Verify Life Support is at 100% - If not at 100% and not checked, random chance of failure during flight
4. Verify Weapons are at 100% - If not, Deploy and retract weapons to verify they are functional. If not checked, then random chance one or more weapons fails to deploy or retract.
5.Activate shields when SYS capacitor is full
6. Request permission to leave. Attempting to leave without permission will result in security thinking your ship is a criminal and they will open fire on you.
7. Hold up to activate maneuvering thrusters - should take a few seconds, similar to taking off from a planet surface now.
8. Gain some altitude (a few meters should be enough)
9. Apply 100% throttle to activate main thrusters and ramp them up to proper operating temperature / rpm - should take about 3 to 5 seconds.
10. Begin moving and retract landing gear at your convenience

I agree!

And this is peanuts compared to Rogue System :D

You mean nobody else powers down their internal modules before leaving the ship, logging off??

Just me then???

:D

Isn't there something similar in the game where you have to verify your controls? I think it can be set up to appear at each launch, but I could be mistaken.

Yes, and it can.
It also appears with each major release (since 2.0 I think)
If you really want it, it's either in your right-hand functions panel, or in the options -> controls menu.

Funnily enough, I'd like a start up sequence too.

But optional.

It can either be something you can do solely for immersion, or it can have very mild benefits too, like say, make integrity degrade slower on the modules you manually boot.

I thought you guys liked immersion. I am proposing more immersion. Its completely immersion breaking for your ships shields to remain on after landing while it is repairing, refueling, etc. Not to mention how silly it is for thrusters to go from completely off to full thrust in under a second.

No, I genuinely want a real startup sequence for my spaceship. Not that silly controller check they have now.

Well then I suggest playing DCS, at least 15 Min. until getting started, when you're good and remember the right order of the starting sequences... ;) Of course separate sequences for every single ship then... :D

This is only a duplicate and a Troll.
Pls stopp with this!

As far as I am aware, this is the first time anyone has ever proposed a ship startup sequence. There is a big difference between a check of your HOTAS and a startup sequence that you have to go through in order to get your ship started.

The only trolling here I see is on your part. I am trying to propose and discuss a legitimate gameplay mechanic. If you have nothing to contribute, feel free to not post at all.

OP, how hurt is your butt?

Apparently not as badly as yours. You do not see me trolling your threads.

Heheheh... I see what you did there. Except you forget forgot to take into account that the ship is connected to station power (the reason for rapid shield charge). Thus, I think you need to re-do the start up sequence to allow for this oversight.

Z..

So just modify step 2 and step 5
2. Power on Power Distributor
5. Activate Shields - because you cant enter your ship when the shields are up. You have to lower them, but the station fast charges them for you when you are ready to leave.

Still searching, i will post the link as soon as i found em.
Similar to this one. People suggested warm up on powerplant, waiting for shields getting online...instead using everytime the checklist.

Just another person who ranted against the transfer delay....
Same as here. You are not serious, otherwise you didn't have said "would make the transfer delay fans happy".
With this you only say, you wouldn't be happy about and just trolling here.

Just my opinion. I hope you don't take it personal but i can't take you serious here

A less time consuming version of this is what I am proposing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WyYA0pjUKw

Takes about 5 minutes for this guy to go through this. What I am proposing could be done in 15-30 seconds.

I'm still waiting for a rescue ship that will pick up my escape pod after my ship blows up.

Of course, the pods fully stocked with snacks, beer, and good tunes. Got to make something out of all the time it takes a rescue ship to be dispatched and pick you up.

Don't forget there should be a helmet flip animation!

LOL I was doing that all day yesterday. On my ATV. I had Fun. I might go on top of the mountains today.

You know a lot of this could be put in when your being turn around to launch. When your facing the wrong way in a station. So it should not slow you down that much. They have Boast type regeneration on shields and such while in the station.

I like the idea. I don't know why everyone assumes this is a troll post. Maybe my understanding of the definition of a troll post is off.
I really had very little opinion on the transfer delay debate and I would have suggested something like this. And I know my motivation would not have been "saltiness".
Don't listen to the trolls calling you a troll. It's a good idea. Maybe not one shared by everyone, but valid nonetheless.
I like DCS and Rogue System too.
