Question, really sorry if I am being dumb, will the progress we make in this beta update carry over to release when the update is released? :)

What rank do we need to have with the Empire to get the Imperial Cutter and what rank do we need to have with the Federation to get the Federal Corvette?

omg sorry for triple. please please please fix the post merging /embarrassed/

Chinese is the most spoken language my friend.

If they have french and spanish, italian should be there too. Just sayin'

Well, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, I imagine French must be up there quite high somewhere too, Italian I would imagine would be way down low.

Edit - well, according to this list (I know..its Wikipedia) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_number_of_native_speakers , Italian is not actually that far below French.

Hi ive installed the beta 1.5 but when I start it up I get to the menu, Click Open play and then all I get is loading game. I have two almost identical PC's running windows 10 and both do the same thing.
Under beta 1.5 I can get the CQC to work but neither the open play or the solo play?
Any ideas??

Lots of existing players at the moment at the italian speaking community who prefer not to play in English bought into the game under the expectation that the game at launch would have had the promised localizations, including Italian:

Localization has started; we will be initially releasing the following languages:
German, French, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Simplified Chinese.

All stated at Newsletter 34 in Agust 2014: http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=...&id=8b7e3f3ba9

6 months after release and 10 months after announced we still dont have the Italian localizations.

It would be great if FDEV could at least announce a tentative timeline for this.

Hey there. Have any Beta Testers out there had a chance to try the Alliance VIP Escort mission? If yes, how does it work? Thanks in advance :).

DAMN! Did anybody notice the heat when using shield cells on ships? THAT is bad. Bad as hell! I'd like to have the heat signature reduced to max. 90%, so the ship does not overheat like crazy. Now it's like this-use SCB when testing the Corvette-130% heat?!?! how the hell are you going to use them on high-heat ships? Like Courier, Python, IEagle? Makes absolutely no sense. They are meant to recarge your shields, not DESTROY YOUR MODULES! Please fix this frontier.

For every magic potion has a side effect. Increase your shields might save the ship but at the cost of damaging/destroying your internal module. Now you have to think about every use of your SCB.

Actually they are now intended to be used as a RISKY last ditch effort to survive and win the fight with getting those last hits in before your shields go down.
They are no longer intended to be must-have spam-spam-spam-recharge modules.
I honestly like this, yes you'll burn a bit of health from your modules, but your shields will recharge and you might survive the fight.
Just as its supposed to be. I really disliked the old way of them being just essential heal-buttons where the only limit was running out of charges. The same problem that EVE Online has/had with its capacitor boosters. The player with the most cap booster charges is most likely to win.

- Improvements to NPC traders
- Those spawned near stations (who will normally dock with that station) now pick their starting cargo from that station's imported goods, rather than a random station's exported goods
- If spawning docked they pick from that station's exports to take away with them. When buying cargo after docking they also use the station's exports

Sorry for the naive question, but does the quoted part above mean cargo bought or sold by NPC traders at stations is actually subtracted from or added to the commodity market of a station? That would be a huge step into the direction of real autonomous markets that evolve even without players involvement, but could be influenced directly by for example destroying NPC traders or protecting them from attackers.

I assume I read to much into those points, didn't I?

Quick question has the anaconda visual bugs been fixed on 1.5.
Not the damage model the flouting sensor screen and mis placed clipping hard points. I am away from computer at the moment so I can't check.

Bump for this. I love FD but hold them to promises made.
