Lol, confirmed opinion?

Yep, you've confirmed his opinion that it's a parody.

Mixing facts with opinions doesn't lend credence to opinions unless there's a logical connection, and even then it only offers hypothetical credence and would qualify as an "appeal to probability". For instance, his being correct about the difference between in the numbers of people supporting an idea and this of thread being a parody in no way implies that his opinion about the quality of the bespoke ideas is also correct - this would be the logical fallacy of "false equivalence".

It was a fact, I already stated so prior to him saying it. So he knew prior to him posting it.

So while you sound really smart, you obviously didn't read the thread entirely before posting. Unlike Mr. Eza

Unless he's quoted his source there's no reason to assume it's anything but an opinion though, is there? Failing to disclose his source doesn't make him right about his opinion or even clever, just furtive.

Nope, I didn't. Never claimed I did.

Wow, just move on. He rep'd my post earlier when I indeed said as much. So he did know it as a fact.

Also I think it's hilarious that you tried telling him to not derail, but you have no problem derailing while you try (hopelessly) to defend being wrong over something so silly.

I would like to see fast travel for the pilot, not the ship, at the condition of no active missions in the transaction tab.

I have limited playtime and travels from one part of the bubble to another are killing me.

Fast travel for the pilot already exists. Simply self-destruct.

Buy a dbx fully armed, goes anywhere fast. We already have magic heals for ships, "scb's" now you want magic travel for ppl. Give us a break

And it is used as an exploit to cash in missions.
I want a fast way to travel from A to B to reach different parts of the bubble, where my ships are parked.

As fast travel would offer a distinct advantage for exploration, as one example, it would need both a separate mode and a separate BGS - otherwise exploration using fast travel would be the default - so not really a case of "don't use it if you don't want to", in my opinion.

Trading rares as another example. Long distance smuggling as a third.

Any mode that makes the game less challenging would become the default mode. I'm still waiting on my Mahjong mode. ;)

I think most of the threads that want a "mode change" are highly illusionary becouse there are dozens of such threads with thousands of posts (open, solo, pvp, pve discussion) and what I have read so far Frontier has not yet reacted to any of those threads and if so, there was only comments like "wont happen guys forget it".

If this thread has some meaning, for me its about the ingame transportation. This is a feature I would like to have, something like station to station "spacetaxi" function within the bubble.

Also when I hear fast travel I think of jumponium (materials gathered on planetsurface) that enhance jumprange. I would like to see a possibility to trade or exchange those materials with other players. This would be some form of "enhanced travel" at least - also for players who dont have horizons or just dont care to harvest materials on planetsurface it would be nice to have a possibility to buy those materials from the market, for a price.

edit: just for thos who dont know: premium FSD Injection doubles jumprange and needs following components: 1 Arsenic; 3 Niobium; 1 Yttrium; 1 Polonium. Those can be found on some planets. Finding those materials can be very timeconsuming though. So they should really have some high cost in credits if they should be for trade anytime later.

The "least" challenging* game mode is already here - the introduction of one more would not change that. Which would tend to suggest that if it was the default mode that the majority of players don't play in Open.

*: in terms of opposition from players.

For the record, this is indeed a stupid idea. So is adding any game mode. /thread

so what was the point in creating the thread? ahh of course... the last part of this quote explains it all... you don't want an open PVE mode seeing how it was mentioned in your OP...

I still think the discussion about a PvE mode makes more sense than this topic because the concept of PvE is officially supported due to solo mode while fast travel is a change in game mechanics and creating a mode for that sounds utterly ridiculous. Regarding PvE both parties have good arguments.

However I am not entirely against fast travel (of course not as a separate mode...), if implemented without destroying balance. Some ideas:

1. Only allow fast travel between stations.
2. You would be a passenger in another ship.
3. It should cost a fee based on distance.
4. You can get interdicted during fast travel once multi crew gets implemented. A NPC flies the ship and you can board turrets to destroy aggressors or jump in a ship launched fighter.
5. Bonds, missions, exploration data etc. remains in your ships black box. Since you leave your ship at a station you'll not be able to sell them when you arrive at your destination. That should address most balancing issues.

but once we were able to store ships and therefore keep multiple builds (Explorer Asp, Combat Vulture, Cargo Python etc) we should get a logical way to move from ship to ship without buying a "travel sidewinder".

That is illogical Captain!

The only logical way to travel is as we do now if you made it possible to fast travel between ships that would break the whole game, players would just buy and store a Sidewinder in each station that they wanted to travel between and just beam between them.

A form of fast travel, which I would call "slow travel", would be far more logical than any form of FF-off+noClip-on PvE mode.

Slow travel: at any station, you can auto-travel to any system with a nav beacon.
You would use this function when you've finished your play session and are about to log off to get some sleep.
Simply choose your destination system in the galaxy map and choose 'travel' in station services.
Each light year you want to travel would take X number of minutes of time.
When you log back in the next day you would be at your chosen destination, or if not enough time has passed then you would be in one of the systems along your route.
