Morning peeps!
It's snowing here today! But it's only supposed to be less than an inch. (about 2 centimeters) Something that has become all too common lately. When I was a kid, we'd get like a foot of snow every other week. It's only snowed three times this year and we've only gotten a total of like 2 inches. It really sucks, global warming.
Truly. It's very sad and very scary. When I was a kid it always snowed in England around christmas time. Now it almost never does. We usually get a sprinkling of slush at some point in the spring and generally lots of flooding. 40*C summers now, every year hotter than the last. We are now growing olives and making wine in the south of the country - that wouldn't have been possible just a short time ago.
I saw wildlifes in Greece this summer and there were several in South Africa when I was there. Really strange to see them in real life.
My grandparents live in North California where they get terrible fires and the aquafers are drying up. It's becoming a desert, fast.
And that's just the economic West. The rest of the world has it worse and fewer resources to cope with and respond to it.
I'm all in favour of climate activism. I did some myself when I was younger, I should get involved again. Our governments are well aware but just don't have enough support to make the kinds of changes that are needed and still stay in power. It all makes me scared to have kids, tbh.
