Small Worlds Expedition 2!

Been meaning to do one of these expeditions, so count me in!

I just hope I'll be able to sync up with people. My usual window to play this game is around midnight, Galactic Standard Time.

You will fit in just fine then as majority of the expedition population is from the US, so midnight Zulu is when majority of us are on (and is also when the weekday meetup times are).

I will update OP soon with the latest registrations.

As a side note, flagship competition is taking place ONLY in our Discord server.
We will be closing the competition Friday at midnight IGT this week, and announce the next day during our meetup.

OP Updated.

Just so everyone knows, the flagship competition is on the DISCORD ONLY (we request that the flagship be a commoner among the discord folks so they're more likely to be around and visible to everyone).
The flagship competition ends tomorrow at midnight, and will be announced during the meetup time on Saturday.

I'm in, just have to craft myself a nice Eagle. Current plan is to strip it down and mod it up to aprox. 27 Ly range with a secondary fuel tanks to make 100+ Ly without scooping possible. No DSS, No Heatsinks, No Shields :D
Btw.: Is NS scooping allowed?

that, i go with shields, i was super lucky in my first FSD roll - just 1% under maximum. Result: g 32-35 Ly (depending on how much fuel i carry) [big grin]

NS scooping?

Be careful with the lack of shields; during meetups, it becomes EXTREMELY unsafe when we have mass jumps etc. Lots of bumping does occur, which is why I will always advise to bring a shield.

My Eagle from SWE1 was a blast.
29Ly, 700m/s under full boost
Less shield than an SRV with 25MJ lololol (1c biweave)

Advanced scanner, no surface scanner, and a large fuel scoop and extra fuel tank.
It was a blast. I almost want to take it again!

Just a (visual) reminder of what Ships are considered "small":

n2uWxgS.jpg

(Image based on the ED Ship Chart V2.3 by Simon Janich.)

Left column: SingleCcrew, 4 internals available
Middle column: Single-Crew, 5+ internals availabe (so you can have ADS, DSS, Scoop, SRV AND Shields)
Right column: Multi-Crew, 5+ internals

Ships are in no paritcular order; the lower the ship is the higher the Jump-Range / the more compartments it will have / the more expensive it will be... something like that... . ;)

Note: the Cobra MK IV is not available to players who bought the game LATER then in the first year after it's release.
(On the plus-side: you are not missing out on anything, unless you want a somewhat better looking Cobra with more cargo-space but the handling of a brick.)

Changing ships

Hi,

Smiley here. This'll be my first group expedition.

I originally registered with a DBX, but I want to do this in a Cobra Mk III. Is it ok to change my mind and come along riding a Cobra instead of the DBX?

NS scooping?
Yeah, neutron star scooping, for the supercharged jumps, but nevermind, there are nearly no ones on the route and I forgot that this is extremely dangerous with the small ships :)

Thats why I will bring a shield, my first thought was to make the eagle as light as possible to bring the jump range to 30+, but now I am with shields at 30+, therefore I bring them instead of the extra fuel.

700m/s under full boost - Wow, this is ridiculous, I guess you had the enhanced thrusters and the whole ship was engineered?

Awesome shots and repped just for that DOF effect on the chaff cutter!

Never managed to get into the planet side instance.. damn you matchmaking server!!!!!

yeah; we had to give up on it, it gets really bad with big ships, small ones aren't nearly as bad (which is a great thing for us!). It took me a handful of attempts but always an annoyance for sure.

Was going to go with the French organised summer exped in my DBX "Kon Tiki", but the language barrier is going to be a nause. Count me in. I'll sign up now.

Late Sign Up

Count me in! CMDR Casooch. The Ship I will be bringing is My Cobra Mk III named: "Must..Silence..Them..."

Too bad because we try to make an effort to adapt ourselves to the international community. Maybe another time.

Fly safe.

OP Has been updated, and a congratulations to CMDR Andromedaa for winning our flagship competition!

Thanks again to everyone that came to hang out on Saturday; it got a bit broken up with not a whole lot to do, but we still had a good time hanging out!

Hope I haven't offended CMDR not my intention at all.
I'm a bit of a special snowflake when it comes to foreign languages.
Bon chance and May stellar winds bless your sails.
