So this gives him (Harry Potter) access to FleetComm private group then?
If so that's a major breach. It means SDC are probably infiltrating as we speak. Let's not forget what they did to MÖBIUS private group. They (SDC) thrive off negative publicity. Are we really going to trust them?? Have we really not learned our lessons?
Confused. Please clarify. I may be overreacting by my concern now isn't a single SDC member in this group but a larger number infiltrating FleetComm.

No, this expedition is taking part in the "Braben is Thargoid" private group, but I believe the group rules are similar, anyone breaking the no fire rule will get kicked from the group.

Yeah. Fun times. That's great. Do you think SDC will behave in like manner when we gather at NGC6820, 6½ kylies from the nearest system authority, and with the expedition ban for firing on players academic what with the expedition objective already achieved? Or are explorers being set up for a glorious SDC turkey shoot out in the Black to go down in the annals of Elite history? Any SDC like to comment?

Sorry CMDRs but I am not taking part in an organised event with CMDR Harry Potter or ANY member of SDC in it. I don't normally do this on the explorer forum and have been away from game for some months and was looking forward to this event but SDC cannot be trusted. Ever.

If you could so kindly please then step away from adding to this forum thread, that would be great. You are only causing drama that is unnecessary.

I personally have been on multiple expeditions with SDC members and they have always followed the rules; thus I am putting my trust in repetitive history of enjoying my time exploring with them.

I find it sad to watch so many people want to walk away from by far the most fun times I've had in the game, because they can't stand to read one person's name. But if you so feel the need to not be part of something that nearly 300 people have signed up for already and have no qualms; then so be it.

Roger that. I just thought an honest reasoned explanation would be appropriate and respectful to you and the admins. You mentioned repetitive history and so have I: SDC and CMDR Harry Potter have a repetitive history of disruption, duplicity and griefing. However, you know what you are doing and you will have no more opinion from me on this subject, you have my word.

Surprised to see there is only one meetup a day for all time zones. Wouldn't it make sense to have two a day to better cover players across different time zones?

I read that the meetings will happen between 00:00 and 01:00. That is 2 to 3am for me.
So I will not be able to follow you on the journey as this is way too late (or early...) for me. Sorry for that.

Be aware, these are only the standard timings. With the majority of staff being in the US, along with over half of those registered, we keep things to a better US based timeline.

That said; that doesn't mean others will not be gathering etc.
By missing those times, the only things you are actually missing are the mass jumps, which is, as you can see, only two hours out of each waypoint.

If you join the discord channel and hang around during the actual expedition you will see that others will be meeting up and likely even having their own mass jumps as small groups throughout the event, that I, as admin, cannot attend due to the obvious time constraints dealing with around the world situations.

Shame, am 8k ly out on azophi expedition, otherwise would have joined in my combat vulture,if it has +20 ly, not sure if it does, anyway have fun, my current asp has no weapons at all, that would stop the fretting, to ban weapons, just check the sub system scan amd boot those with weapons other than mining lasers.

I usually just ask "ytho" and ask them how many Ly it cost them to carry heavy weapons on a small ship lol.

Whilst playing in Group, I just shredded two waves each of four NPCs who had interdicted me en route to Obsidian Orbital whilst in the Maia System, flying DBX Black Joke. Being armed stopped the fretting.

Because whilst NPCs are usually easy to evade, shredding them is good fun. My heavy weapons cost me 2.14L-y range. With other defences that leaves me a maximum range of 49.51L-y. Have a nice day

Weekend times are okay for us all I think, but the weekdays time is the problem for all of us EU players. How about setting up a timeslot for Europe on weekdays?
I would love to see such a second timeslot for the meetups and would suggest the 19:00-20:00 Zulu. This should be late enough for the 6pm workers in GB as well as early enough for the guys in the eastern europe with aprox. up to UTC+4.

Just for some clarification.. are we banning weapons?

I'd planned to come fully armed, after all, we aren't the only ones out there, who knows what content may be introduced while we're in the black. From explorer fit to full combat loadout is only a 10ly difference for my cobra mk3. 28ly Vs 38ly is nothing, heck, went to beagle point pre engineers with less then that!

On the topic of Harry Potter being involved, a bit of a surpirse, but until he does something, you can't discriminate. Rinzler is known as an Explorer and has been to Beagle Point and back without shooting anyone. Discovered this when i was on Distant Worlds and saw his name on a system on the far side of the Abyss. In other words, he wasn't a follower like many on Distant Worlds, he went there prior to it.

No, what i'm outraged about is how you guys got a sticky and my expedition didn't! Oh, and a mention in the newsletter! *grumbles* (seriously, congrats on that)
