There was a lot of chaff being launched at our meet-up. One Commander hit the wrong button. I sure hope he sold his exploration data first.

Another reason to have chaff on a key bind, and not a trigger/fire group

Absolutely. On the HOTAS (not sure about the DS4) there is a specific place to set a button for chaff in the controller options.

I pressed my button to fire my chaff, pretty much like everybody else - and realized I only have heat sinks on my Exploraconda. Woops. Sorta.

That was cool, reminded me of a time recently whereas I went into a USS 4 and found nothing but 4 harmless in side winder that were all wanted, I'm not comepletly stupid so I only sat there for a minute observing them when an Elite in a Conda came in and he was wanted. I was only a novice at the time and the four side winders out numbered me so I wasn't a threat. But when they scanned the Conda, they all hightailed it out of there which was simular to the video you just posted. Don't know why, but watching multiple ships leaving almost simotaniously is cool.
