So do Revenants not spawn at abandoned settlements anymore ?

ya, I'm trying to get Tactical Core Chips, but really not interested in anything on foot.
Seems like methods that worked last month are broken now.

You can get them at Thargoid Spire sites as well, around the structures dubbed as "Mega Barnacles" (note, needs to be an active site around an active Titan, so Thor, Raijin or Cocijo). Not sure if they respawn there though, and you'll have to contend with the Banshee disruption missiles as well (or bomb them out of existence alongside the Revenants... mind, an ECM can divert the disruptors away from your ship).

Though, I have seen someone claim just going to an abandoned military settlement will still spawn Revenants even if you don't have a mission (which is definitely a thing that is missing and I guess it was/is an assumption of people the Revenant spawn is tied to it). Have not verified this for myself... but if it is accurate, you can also do that. Probably worth looking into at least if you don't want to bother with the spires.

Ya, I tried the just go to abandoned military sites for a few hours - they're dead, occasional interceptor jumps in but nothing on the ground. tried relogging too, still nothing.
I've heard that the drop rates for ship attacks at spire sites got reduced to zero last patch, but I havn't verified yet.
If Fdev is really forcing space feet I'm just gonna uninstall.

It's not "space feet" that is required, at worst you'd have to go out in an SRV (Scorpion preferably) and shoot down the Revenants* until you have enough of the core chips(RNG willing - I spent a good while at one of Raijin's spires getting 15 of them to have a few for the engineering if I want to do any, plus an extra stockpile, if small). In fact, you can't even pick up the dropped Revenant bits on foot. Didn't even go outside the SRV once.

The only "requirement" would be owning Odyssey to have access to the thin atmospheric worlds on which spires were placed. Which it sounds like you already do?

*With attention needing to be paid to Banshees. They can ruin your day pretty quickly depending on where in the site you try and pick the stuff up once you begin shooting the drones. They have fairly higher detection range and losing them is tricky because not only are they quick once they begin moving, but unlike the Revenants they also won't hesitate to chase you through the entire site if they have to. And they are tough.

That aside... have not heard anybody saying you can't get the material drops from Revenants from your ship any longer. Sometimes they do not spawn anything when killed, or maybe the collision bug makes the thing fly off into the backrooms before you get to see it. Perhaps they weren't close enough to the surface for the game to keep the material spawned in. (I could be telling you this, had I chosen to actually use the AX missiles on my ship to bomb Revenants, land and take off in the Scorpion after their drops - but I didn't want to bother with the Banshee disruptor missiles.)

... and the Guardian immunity field is not a necessity either, given how AX missiles are more than sufficient to target the Titan's thermal core - unless you want the shards or plasmas for Orthrus blasting or because you find them more interesting to use.

Spires; Each barnacle has 4 revenants guarding it, plus two buried that pop up if you start messing around inside the barnacle.
Reinforcement Revenants are delivered by a scout if there aren't any active around the Spear Crown.

The abandoned military settlements do contain Revenants regardless of mission, however I only know of one that doesn't also have a banshee.
