So.... LEP content... When?

Guess what.. the LEPers aren’t the only ones wondering what the next paid addition are, though I will say I’m certainly tired of hearing from them about it. Us non-LEPers will have the same opportunity to obtain that said same content, we just have to pay for it. I’m OK with paying for new content. So I’ve just as much a dog in this fight too.

But Beyond has not yet run its course. Let them finish one thing before you start harping about what’s next. You wonder why releases feel rushed and half-done. How about taking half the blame for all the incessant yammering for things that just aren’t ready yet?

Patience is a virtue that unfortunately not many people have.

Dear LEP holders. We are releasing the Cobra mk4 on the store for 10e available to all. The proceeds of this will go to designing two new sidewinder paintjobs with graffiti-ised 'I'm a mug, and not a hutton orbital one' in two diffferent colour schemes, a pink with yellow polka dot flight suit, and a middle finger bobblehead where the fist is stationary and the middle finger flips you off every time you change direction, all COMPLETELY FREE.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? :D

Yes, thanks Maximus, that was quite entertaining.

I see it more like sitting in a nice restaurant and being offered a free drink at the bar because your table isnt ready yet. And responding to that by rolling about on the floor wailing before storming off for a bucket of salt & a halfcooked carcass at a dubious fried chicken-type place. No Man's Chicken: Its a really weird colour & I dont trust it.

Why do you have green eggs and ham?
Clean out your fridge already Sam, just damn.

So far the only difference between the 2015 LEP and a Horizons pre-order is that the LEP cost more.

You mean after discounting Beta access and vanilla game costs?

We have been through this before. Surely we do not need to rehash the same conversation over?

Only an extra £10. Horizons Beta was £50 (or £40 for basegame owners), while Horizons was £40 (or £30 for basegame owners).

The Lifetime Expansion Pass was £130 (or £120 for basegame owners, or £93 for basegame owners who paid using Rubles instead ;) )

Right and by season 5 if both 4 and 5 are £30 each that's a total of £120 for DLC alone. when season 6 comes out I DEMAND all non LEP purchasers get exclusive content cause we paid more. RANT RANT BLAH BLAH..........

GET A GRIP LEPer's that are complaining. You will get all paid content, when it comes and and without being charged for it. Also unless you never actually installed the game you would have already got your monies worth in hours.

To be fair you should get a HEAVY discount for paying up front and fronting development costs, so it's not that simple. I'd say the LEP holders are due 'something' to tide them over, I'm not one, but I'd be disappointed if I was (up to now). I don't know if I'd be making a fuss, but I'd be disappointed.

This is how I (mistakenly in hindsight) calculated things:

1. I bought the base game in December 2014 for £40.
2. Horizons was announced in August (?) 2015. I think it was £30 to existing players, or £40 with beta access.
3. Horizons was, or so it seemed, planned as a year of content. I made this assumption on the basis of FDev announcing the 4 Horizon releases in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. I know some people contend this, but this is what I read at the time. I wasn't the only one to assume Horizons would be about a year of content (2016).
4. So I figured that if I paid £120 for the LEP, that would be £40 for Horizons (with beta access) and I'd be £80 down. For a shortish while.
5. So on the basis of assumption (3) I calculated that the next release, sometime in 2017, would be another £40, and I'd only be £40 down.
6. Given this assumed pace I figured I'd probably break even by 2018 or 2019. And it might help FDev out by paying in advance.

Now then, don't shoot me. These were my assumptions. I'm not complaining, merely stating what I thought. I was wrong. I'm OK with that.

Now here's the thing. What I hadn't considered was that I might not actually want to play Elite: Dangerous for a "lifetime". As we approach 2019, I'm not sure whether I do or not. So, in hindsight, I would have been better not to have chosen the LEP.

As I said, this is not a complaint. Just trying to explain how these things happen. One makes decisions on the basis of the information one has at the time. I think the biggest mistake I made was assumption (3) above. Maybe others made the same assumption. Yes, I know it's a gamble with these things.

But hey ho.

Sounds about right (as another LEP holder).

No you shouldn't get a HEAVY discount for paying up front. The LEP is and was a season pass that allows the upcoming content for free, that is it.

There is no LEP content, it is just content, and as for the idea to give LEPer's free items from the store, that is insulting to the LEPer's and non-LEPer's alike. None of us want free cosmetics in place of dlc that will add interesting things in the game.

I do not mean to come across as rude, but I am sick of threads from people demanding things.

Congrats on becoming forum Elite Aashenfox.

I do have to say, my LEP purchase rates as one of my worst computer game purchases, right after my preorder of Aliens: Colonial Marines

It's pretty apparent Frontier simply couldn't give a monkey's about delivering on the LEP.

The only reason premium is coming is because it now suits them to do it.

Money was taken and as far as Frontier are concerned nothing more is required, delivering any sort of value does not seem to factor in.

They could have delivered something to LEP owners if they wanted to, it just wasn't important to do so. That is the unfortunate reality of it.

I think Frontier can be thankful they have such a passionate fanbase and can get away with this, if it were any other games company I think the backlash would be much greater.
