So.... LEP content... When?

And the premium content that is coming up, LEP'ers are not going to have to dip into their wallets for . Everyone else has to if they want to stay up to date with the game.

No you shouldn't get a HEAVY discount for paying up front. The LEP is and was a season pass that allows the upcoming content for free, that is it.

There is no LEP content, it is just content, and as for the idea to give LEPer's free items from the store, that is insulting to the LEPer's and non-LEPer's alike. None of us want free cosmetics in place of dlc that will add interesting things in the game.

I do not mean to come across as rude, but I am sick of threads from people demanding things.

Congrats on becoming forum Elite Aashenfox.

Thanks mate! :D But I definitely feel you should get a discount for your faith. The game could have turned out to be crap and that would be that, wasted money. I figure that's why early access is usually significantly cheaper.

I also feel that FD did the right thing in making beyond free, because it was all core content updates. Logically that delayed the creation of premium content, another reason lep holders deserve some love. 4 years is a long time for a season pass to come to fruition, although I would accept it if someone said, "well, elite is a marathon game with a 10 year dev plan, so norms don't really count", and if so then a few store freebies aren't a bad idea to tide over those that just want 'value', cos that doesn't cost me or FD a single thing and makes more people happy. Win-win? Im not a lep holder, as I said, so I really feel like I'm looking at it objectively. Just another opinion I guess. :)

As a LEP licensee (none of us own anything to do with Elite), I understand the frustration and the feeling of not getting what you paid for. I sometimes feel the same. However, I also recognized upfront that there were no guarantees. Notwithstanding this, I chose to purchase a LEP license anyway to tell Frontier thank you. Thank you for ignoring the industry belief that only FPS games are viable and for creating the game you invisioned was possible.

Now that we are several years further on from the initial release, we have a plethora of space games available or in development to choose from. Eg. Star Citizen, X4, No Man's Sky, and Rebel Galaxy Outlaw just to name a few. Each of these is so often compared to Elite with the declaration that "such and such dev" has put Frontier to shame or the "such and such game" is the Elite killer. What is forgotten is that if it were not for the success of Elite:Dangerous, none of them would exist. If Elite had failed, it would have been proof to the entire industry that, outside of FPS style games, space is dead in terms of profit.

Elite: Dangerous is still the Gold standard by which every other space game is judged. And if my purchase of a LEP license has contributed in any way to the success of Elite and the revitalization of an entire video game genre, then I have only one thing to say. You're welcome.

I agree that making Beyond free to update and fix or even introduce core mechanics was a great idea. Just really hoping that the new Mining/Exploration mechanics are good.

Doesn't mean its true. As I was late in starting ED, I started during the Horizons pre-order phase, I would say my money for ED base game went to pay for Season 3 as the base game was already out for over a year before they got money off me.

FD has said there will be more content for LEP, when however is up to them.

I'm happy to wait.

You mean after discounting Beta access and vanilla game costs?

We have been through this before. Surely we do not need to rehash the same conversation over?

No, at full price, the Horizons LEP cost 4 time more than Horizons, accounting for the 15 USD/10 GBP discount for already owning the base game.

Essentially, Horizons LEP owners are waiting for 3 more full priced expansions worth 45 USD/30 GBP at the time of their release (inflation and changing exchange rates not withstanding) to break even.

At this stage, I'm not. I think a more mature response should be forthcoming from FD on this, such as what they have in mind, and when they intend to do this (even if it is to say in a few weeks, or at years' end). Not sure I like the idea of keeping this information back from us, unless it is associated with what is to be revealed in 3.3, for which I would have sympathy.

But to be honest, they could come out straight and say this, if it were so.
