It's never 100% sure, but with 2.3, FDev seem to have decided to turn ED into an multiplayer arcade combat game for Xbox One and PS4.
And I was SO looking forward to the exclusive PC ONLY Beta

Or you could write a pointless forum post. It's never 100% sure, but with 2.3, FDev seem to have decided to turn ED into an multiplayer arcade combat game for Xbox One and PS4.
If I were running that company it is likely I would have done the same: go for the most juicy market.
So my question for the rest of us who are not into PvP, multiplayer and arcade combat: what do we do now?
-Wait and cry, hoping for a turn of event ?
-Look for an alternative which we know doesn't exist?
-Get a (real) life and use all this new found free time to catch up with old friends?
If you don't like multicrew or any features in the game, then DON'T use them. All of those features are optional and you are not forced into using it. If it doesn't support your playstyle, then just don't use it. Stop trying to everyone else over with your whining.[down]
I know, right? The nightmare we have to go through in improving our systems all the time. Upgrading to get that perfect gaming experience.Lol, I love gloom&doom, woe is us Master PC Race topics.
You are correct, you don’t have to use them. Unfortunately however you have no choice but to pay for them, and that’s what really annoying.
£40 for a base game and 3 expansions that hold no interest is what I’d wager is the problem. It's not whining

Why did you buy it?! Why do you think your post makes any sense?! It doesn't.
I have a LTP so I get the content regardless. I have no interest in MC but I don’t begrudge it being included. I don’t necessarily like where it takes the game, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it as I just wont use it. But it’s obvious some people do take issue. £40 for landing on planets and a full season is good value, £40 for landing on planets and 4 expansions that hold no interest isn't. That’s likely why people get annoyed when they feel like they are not getting value.
Hopefully they change the season model next year so people can buy the content they want rather than having content that holds no interest. That way if you don’t like an update, you don’t buy it and don’t complain about it.
But hey, what I do care. I have LTP
I may have used "arcade" wrongly. I meant action + giving priority to ease of use and immediate entertainment.Oh, here we go. Another poster totally ignorant to the term "arcade" and lashing out like a petulent child at "those dirty, poopy console doody heads." All just because they want to throw a hissy fit and bash ED for not being a life simulator.
Well, I still have hopes that the game will meet at least some of my wishes, but you may be right. I'll wait and test the 2.3 release before, though. Some of you guys bought/backed the wrong game. Maybe it's time to admit that and move on. It's nobody's fault you were wearing beer goggles when you decided to fund the game. Next time just be sober when buying/backing a game. Simples.
Awwe. Only temp closedThread temp closed pending moderation.
I hope you're right, that's why I'll wait for the 2.3 final release before making up my mind.I think, just me this is, FD hide "non combat" content behind the sexy stuff that sells.
I mean, 2.3 is highlighting multicrew and the commander creator.
But we got an awesome new camera in there too, better friends lists, probably more alien stuff.
Combat is exciting to more people than say, mining. But, we're getting turret mining lasers too.
It's just not front page news.
