So PS4 CMDR's....Physical or Digital?

Now we know the release date and what both versions will contain who is going for what?

I was thinking digital but the 1000 frontier points is tempting though I am unsure of the value of the points compared to ££ when purchasing in the store.

I'd recommend digital! although the disk is only used to install the game it does need to be inserted everytime you load up which can be a pain if you're using remote play!

The 1000 points is about a tenners worth and probably better value than the commanders deluxe version which gives you a few skins etc.

We'll all be playing it that often digital is a good choice

Physical for me because I am old school, its slightly cheaper and I get to buy the cosmetics I want.

I think the Commanders pack with the paint packs, and the Goldwinder might be slightly better value though.

So I am a bit torn but pre-ordered the disk today for £36.85. (£35.75 with discount)

I probably won't play other games much so Elite Dangerous can stay in the PS4.

I am a bit torn... On the one hand I would love to have the physical box, on the other hand digital is much more handy regarding remote play... (and to be honest the disc change is also sometimes annoying when you are at home, even if that sounds totally lazy )

Usually with me it boils down to price. If the price is equal or close, I prefer digital for the convenience sake (no disk swapping). However, Amazon.com often has deals on physical media that can't be beat (I got NMS for $16 USD via Amazon).

Since this is a new release, and I'm definitely not waiting for a holiday sale (prepare to be blinded by my golden Sidewinder), I'll likely go digital via PSN.

I can always pick up a physical copy of ED during our American "Black Friday" at reduced cost if I become a nutso fanboy, which with this game may well happen.

My HZD disk never gets used apart from checking you have it in the drive at launch, it stops spinning fairly quickly, at least on my Pro. No games should constantly be loading data from the Blu-ray drive.

Yeah I knew that, the only time a disc really gets used is during initial installation. Other than that it's only ever a presence check with the game actually running off HD.

Anyway it's more the load/eject mechanism that would be overworked!

Its not delayed, its confirmed as simultaneous release on 27th June for both digital and physical.

i am going digital, mainly because if anything happened to disk drive or the disk got scratched i would end up with £300 pounds of flying junk and a hole in my window lol
