there is one thing i don´t understand.
the wave is guardian tech, and the thargs are using the wave.
in conclusion, the thargs are able to utilise guardian technology.
this means they must have reverse-engineered said tech.
so why have they been vulnerable to guardian tech in the first place?

what has happened is, the Thargoids never could beat the Guardians, cos high-tech vs high-biology was incompatable.
Then Salvation messed around with Guardian technology, plugged it into the Thargoids, they were like "ooooh... so that's how it works? Thanks! let's try it out"

Big. Badda. Boom.

In short, Salvation - instead of inventing a Superweapon to beat the Thargoids - just taught the Thargoids how to use Guardian tech. Expect Tharguardian ships in 5...4...3...

I think its more that Salvation plugged it into the Goid base which historically rejects Guardian stuff (violently)- so while it worked to begin with, the base did its thing and did a massive Thargoid energy burp as it rejected Proteus.

A weapon and its possible countermeasures are different things. It is entirely possible that no defense is known at the time. The real world is full of examples.

ooh that makes sense, given that the guardians would haved used the wave if it worked.
salvation really should have read the fine print.
what´s his next idea, activating the guardian ai?

the superweapon was "his final gift".. so, if he didnt' survive the attack, he isn't long for this galaxy anyway
