So . . . . Type 8 eh?

has there been an announcement yet for when it will be in game, for credits?
I am guessing but thinking maybe next month for cash .. which would mean November maybe for proper release but if there is a proper source with dates that would be cool

Possibly an announcement in next week's FU stream?

If it is going to be released around the time the P2 goes 'not P2W' ( :ROFLMAO: ) that would be the last opportunity to showcase it on stream.

How utterly DARE YOU talk about the Type 8

I really hope the OP cargo capacity (for a medium) means the hull is gossamer light so that the T-8 gets an OP Anaconda-style jump capability accordingly because I can definitely see a place for it "in front of things" as a stylish explorer.

As for mining capabilities, I did a test on an OG Python with a bunch of 1A modified mining lasers and a C4 distro which looked promising. The modules have much less distro draw (halved, I think) for their slight damage reduction.

(BTW, said modified lasers are available at the House Ascendant, in 21 Eridani last I checked, without requiring a permit, contrary to the implication of the Type-6 prebuild description which cites the "need to unlock the LTT 198 permit" for this module.)

Kind of hoping FDEV don't repeat the PyII partner preview on this one so that even twitch obsessives like myself will get to experience it fresh..

Tell you what. If you feel the best way to buy ships is through arx, then by all means play the game that way - buy the new releases as soon as they're available, or if you want to buy older ships make sure you buy the 16,250 equivalent.

Blaze your own trail.

But leave the rest of us out of it who clearly want nothing to do with that.

As far as I know, class is about size, not weight.
Both the weight/mass of a ship and the size of FSD have an impact. Which is why the Anaconda manages to have a much greater(or at least better, depending on configuration) jump range than the equivalent size of FSD on a Corvette.

I was responding to what he said:
that'd be great, if unlikely give the T-line's dismal jump capability
And thought he was writing (i envisioned ) about pad size, the game is full of heavy ships for a medium pad and vice versa.
He could be a lot heavier than FGS

Perhaps. It wouldn't surprise me if the T8 ends up having relatively low jump range when fully optimized for cargo transport, that's for sure. If not just not great at jumping in the first place, but we'll have to see the stats when it's out there for players to poke at. Probably when the PII becomes available for credits... I'd guess, anyway.

Poor Type 7 Transporter, inferior in every possible way to the Type 8, forever relegated to the status of an inferior ship, never to be purchased, never to be used, never to be loved, destined to obsolescence, destined to be forgotten, destined to rust or to be sold to be scrapped.

Rest in peace, forgotten and underappreciated.

I already asked in a neighboring thread. Why do they always write about t7 vs t8 ?
T7 is a big ship (large landing), you should compare t6 and t8.
