So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

I guessing ERP in the message is from the military meaning "en-route rally point (ERP)"

So I'm thinking if Hawkins Gap is ERP 001, The Conflux is ERP 002 and Formidine Rift is ERP 003. Where is ERP 004? Is it PHAA?

"End"-route Rally Point. Google it.

Perhaps these beacons signify the end of the Rift and, as mentioned, the H&S are the gateway you move through while exiting? Are there any noticeable patterns that can define the rift as being the area in between H&S and before the beacons (Sol side)?

The only thing would be the huge collection of non-scoopable stars that lay at a lower area in EAFOTS than the R-R line. I can't remember where, but that would be the only thing that qualifies as a "rift" but all you have to do is jump a few LY "vertical" (GalMap wise) and no more "rift."

Very much unlikely we're looking at an easily crossed section of the Galaxy since then it wouldn't be a "rift" - it would just be like the rest of the galaxy.

Keeping in mind that whatever is here in the Rift may also be in, or be related to, the Conflux and Hawking Gap. Thus, the Rift may not be something so un-common, but a situation vaguely remembered and described after making the mistake of not trying to "go around" (i.e. a few LY "up" and over).

This ^

The Rift is where we've been thinking it is for the last 18 months. If it was before H&S, then the statement about "The whole galaxy just hanging there" would have had the additional comment "apart from those two dirty great nebulae a few hundred lightyears behind you, which are actually really important and maybe you should think about visiting them".

These probes are just fleshing out the statement from Kahina that the three areas (Rift, Hawking, Conflux) are related.
They don't give us any further information about the Rift mystery.

I did what you suggest and 'googled' it, here have a look, https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=_A4yWLWbK7PS8AfFqLkY#q=en+route+rally+point

I still believe it to be the military acronym, "en route rally point", hopefully as the mystery gets solved we will find out.

As for patterns the Rift ones did look to be in alignment, I surveyed in both directions upto 200ly but didn't find anything else, but others aren't so I think that might be a red herring, I'm back in the bubble at the moment investigating the crash at Alioth so taking a break from deep space beacon hunting :)

From there I would fly from the -135 line to the -150.

Then head North, I think -17 is somewhere around the lower "edge" maybe.

North edge I think is about +4, so if you keep going beyond -17 all the way to +4 it's probably not crashing for you.

I got a crash at +4,-150, this is on PC. I have heard lat/long are reversed on XBox though I don't know.

I can confirm the crash at the same coords!
Now I'll try solo and group; I was already in open

The same in Solo too.
The game client was only managing ambient and exploration music files; I wasn't able to catch the file access attempt leading to the crash; but it happens at 4 -150 near the border od a crater.
Some content is missing for sure....

Whats the chance that there are three mysteries in play here? Suppose whoever sent the beacons out were investigating three separate mysteries. Not too likely, but I liked the thought of multiple hidden "things".

IIRC, Drew was specifically tasked with tying all the various mysteries into one thread - so I'd say the chance is 100%

Not sure, would they not be something from tales old too? If not, they're not as big as whatever's in the Formidine Rift.

I've just arrived in the EAFOTS secure, I guess everyone has checked the EB-P systems? Something that was deduced from the "Good Luck... And Right on Commander" line?

Has anyone actually followed the line, between the Heart and Soul nebulae and onwards?

So I am EAFOTS scanning and what not. I get to the directly down from the First system with the beacon. Down below it toward the galactic floor.

Anywho There are 4 suns I go to the fourth sun and the first planet. I see that the planet looks like the exact texture and geography of the Planet where the massive alien crash is located.

I land and start driving in my SRV. Then the game crashes to the desktop. It is now repeatedly crashing and no troubleshooting is helping. I am no longer able to play the game all. Is this happening to anyone else? If so have you found a fix. Asking here as it seems alot of people are talking about EAFOTS sector right now.

open in non horizons mode, it will give you the option to start in space

Early warning of attack from 3 different civilisations?
There may be more beacons.
4 beacons have a 200 LY reach so you would have them every 400 LYs to catch enermy traffic.
The beacons have been disabled for some reason and possibly one destroyed and yet to be found on a planet or in space.

I've just read the Formidine expedition thread, and it was mentioned that we should pay attention to the constellations for clues, so keep your eyes on distant stars, and look for anything that could be a clue. We're talking stars lining up to tell us something.
