So what happens to all the merit I missed out on when handing in these resources in a system far from Sol?
Are those gone for good, or are they just on hold?

Gone for good, almost certainly. So what happens to all the merit I missed out on when handing in these resources in a system far from Sol?

seconded. An update would be nice. it really gave me a good reason to do on foot contentIs there any update as to when FDev will be letting us do on-foot transfer power data activity again?
At least with escape pods there's an argument that they shouldn't have used those in the first place, although my real concern there is how it wasn't picked up that they were an exploit waiting to happen before the new powerplay was implemented in the first place.Gone for good, almost certainly.
No-one got any back pay when rares were re-enabled, and there's no guarantee that data will be re-enabled at all (escape pods haven't been yet and probably won't be, for example)
That's fair - I wouldn't mind so much if they replaced the escape pods in the various Power wreckage/combat signal sources with black boxes, so the intended signal sources still had something approximating their original good-but-not-ridiculous value. At least with escape pods there's an argument that they shouldn't have used those in the first place, although my real concern there is how it wasn't picked up that they were an exploit waiting to happen before the new powerplay was implemented in the first place.
Yes, definitely.Odyssey data feels different though and I feel it's going to be a big statement on how they intend to deal with exploits. Either they genuinely fix them or keep removing bits of the game until we have no more game.
Exactly this. Feels like we are heading straight to boring flyer hauling again. PP2 would then share its predecessor's fate. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.Odyssey data feels different though and I feel it's going to be a big statement on how they intend to deal with exploits. I mean PP2.0 is already dead. Started PP 2.0 in November, finished PP 2.0 with rank 225 in January. Three out of ten missions didn't work. I can buy everything and that's it. The current action by FD only shows me that it hasn't got any better.Exactly this. Feels like we are heading straight to boring flyer hauling again. PP2 would then share its predecessor's fate. And also the adjustments to the merit:control point ratio for reinforcement vs acquisition/underminingEdit: I may have misremembered, I think that may have been the same update Rare Goods were re-enabled, but I don't recall exactly.
Indeed. There are many, many issues that can and could be sorted but the longer they are left the harder it is to stop becoming ingrained.they just need to be doing that sort of thing more regularly
It took them 9 years to fix SLOW DOWN.Indeed. There are many, many issues that can and could be sorted but the longer they are left the harder it is to stop becoming ingrained.
True. All they have to do is to change a 40 (or 20, depending on power) for non PP NPC murder to 400 and then a lot of PP would be fixed, or at least allow rapid UM at a price. It took them 9 years to fix SLOW DOWN.
But the Friendship drive will, it seems, stay forever.
Any update on the systems that were supposed to be reverted last week or do you plan on letting ALD keep all of those ill-gotten systems, proving that it does, in fact, pay to exploit/cheat?Greetings commanders,
We have been closely monitoring the Powerplay situation in Sol and a number of other affected systems. We are aware of a recent increase in undermining scores impacting the powerplay status of those systems, and have taken action to address the situation.
To prevent further impact, we have temporarily disabled system score and merit gain from the on foot transfer power data activity until a permanent fix is in place. On the next Thursday maintenance (19th June), we will return the systems to their appropriate state. Please note that the galaxy map panel for the affected systems will also return to normal at this time.
There is no need to prove that, because it was clear from past incidents, anyway. Thus FDev does not have to invest anything there at all.Any update on the systems that were supposed to be reverted last week or do you plan on letting ALD keep all of those ill-gotten systems, proving that it does, in fact, pay to exploit/cheat?
Any news on re-enabling settlement data?Hey folks, we will be returning affected systems to their rightful states during tomorrow's (Thursday 26 June) maintenance. This may extend the maintenance downtime slightly.
