Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

It's from the same guy who did the original Soontill hoax, and if you look you can see the default mouse cursor in the video. ED doesn't have that, even in the debug cam. That it comes 2 days after his original hoax was exposed? Yeah, okay.

yeah seriously

Welp, I'm a moron. I'm in Peregrina & have been hunting WSSes for a couple hours. Pop into one, there's a single contact: Ancient Artefact. I know we're looking for an unknown, but I can't help wanting to get close & try listening to it. Evidently, I was pretty excited. Thought I was hitting down thrusters on my throttle, hit boost instead.

No more Ancient Artefact.

Imagine if that had been a UA... IMAGINE

Just a quick question. I'm averaging 5-10 minutes between each WSS. 3 mins for SSS and about 3 mins for USS. Is any one out there experiencing the same luck?

Wat?! I am in Timocani, and I am getting no WSS at all, just a heap of USS and SSS. (I've been dropping into those anyway, but no dice so far - and I brought a cargo scanner so I've been scanning the ships too)

I've since moved back to LHS 412 and am now averaging WSS about 1per 45 sec. Absolutely insane. I can't guarantee it will be like this for any one else but this is the most luck I've had this week hunting UA.

I wasn't getting many WSSs in Timocani last night and have yet to make dinner so haven't tried today
Is it RNG
Will more be better or will rarer WSS mean when they pop up better chance of something interesting?
Is the state of war one faction has pending changing what W/U/SSS are there to be found?

My theory is that WSS have many things they can be. A large number of them contain goods usually prohibited in the system they spawn in. Perhaps, and this is a HUGE speculation, being in an anarchy system where there is only toxic waste as a prohib good, that will reduce the number of probable instances the WSS can choose from, resulting in UA having a higher chance to appear. That's assuming the WSS works the way I think it does. if I were you, reader, I would come to your own conclusions.

I'm going to head around 'the old worlds' and look there. I feel like that Galnet news report had to be something... Not just filler. I think it's the first clue.

I was in Timocani yesterday from about 6pm till 1am this morning. WSS's were few and far between, I got 4 in the whole evening. Plenty of USS's and SSS's however.

The only time I got any WSS's was when I had a 'recover rebel transmissions' mission. <shrug> no Unknown Artefacts however.

Could it be that these objects are far from stellar bodies out in the sticks? Anyone tried heading further away from the jump point?

These artifacts can only be sold at places that have a black market. I wonder if its worth camping a nav point of a system that has a black market and scanning all the npcs that warp in?

Since the Peregrina system description says that they are trading alien artefacts it might be worth camping in front of the station there? Did anyone try that?
(If the description is a tad sloppy and they are in fact trading the UA we are looking for)

Ok so my Morning Up-date on the hunt.

Yesterday was pretty fruitless. Another couple of hoaxers. Good ones with plenty of effort. I expect something over the weekend. Keep at it boys and girls!

Search Systems update:-(bold for updated info)

Peregrina - Permit required- Intensely searched, reducing possibility - Permit from HIP 18609

LHS412 - no permit - Intensely searched, reducing possibility Fiction Clues point to planets around LHS412 IV

Old worlds - no permit, no reports; but Galnet article of various rare goods in convoys

Isinor - Permit required - search in progress - permit from Anotchadiae*, Reshas and LTT 5053 with Chapter of Isinor faction

Polaris - historical and potential home of Thargoids - Permit required, not obtainable -Unknown Artefacts speculated to be possible permit

Circa. Timocani UA reportedly found and sold. Potentially one per week. Recommend continued search. Expand this search into Timocani, Delphin, Geawenki, Jita Ten.

Lft 509 and Witch's Reach Permits required from unknown faction. Need to research more for permit. UA possible Permit for these systems.

Summary of Redeye's experience. Focus on Weak Signal . Work with missions. But don't ignore other Signal Sources.
Remember this is a mystery hunt, not a die for the cause mission. Be crafty, use limpets on unshielded if you find it in a big convoy.
Fly safe in the black!
